I’ve been fighting the flu for the past few days, so couldn’t muster writing an essay for today. I used what little energy I have to talk about the news that Chris Christie has met the donor threshold to appear in the first Republican primary debate in August. I believe Christie will be a formidable opponent for Donald Trump, as he will stand up to the former president's bully tactics and "knock him on his a**."
For anyone age 65 or above, GET THE NEW BIVALENT BOOSTER for COVID! You will need to repeat again in three months. This will protect you against a couple of new variants. Meanwhile, Steve, I hope that you don't have COVID, but please do get tested so that you can get started immediately on the antiviral medication which can significantly shorten the duration and severity of the illness. I hope that you feel much better soon. For now, please take it easy! If you feel you must post something each day, post some of your previous essays. Christie had a favorability rating of less than 20% when he left the governorship of NJ and is viewed as a politician by MAGA. He's got a steep uphill battle ahead of him.

For reasons that remain unfathomable to me, Trump appeals to so much of his party because he is a bull in a China shop…saying and doing what they all wish they could say or do but don’t have the megaphone or power he has to get away with it. They love him for the very reasons the rest of us despise him.
