Trump just threatened everyone in America - elect me or else. He is coming to your door and saying to you and your family - you will elect me or you will suffer a bloodbath. Trump and his supporters are a threat to your Freedom, your Health, your Wealth, and your Safety.

Isn't this the Million Dollar Question, these days more like, ten Million.

I am Donald J. Trump. Laws and rules do not apply.

Trump just gave the Dems yet another gift. The word "bloodbath", with the appropriate imagery, should be in the face of EVERY American for the next 7+ months. Come on, folks! Get your heads out of your butts and save our Republic!

Expand full comment

Exactly – and this threat, this frightening extortion Trump is laying on everybody should be front page news! It should be the first thing they show you on TV news, so everybody knows who we are dealing with! And everybody should know he doesn’t give a flying, you know what about anybody, but himself. He just wants the power, he wants to be Putin, who makes people in occupied Ukraine vote for him at gunpoint. Well, Trump is putting a gun in everybody’s face with these threats.

You are correct in saying he is only in this for himself. He knows damn well that if he is not POTUS, he cannot be pardoned! I hope he and his family rot in jail! Look at the lives he has ruined since he went down his golden stairs; and he ruined countless more before that! He is evil personified!

Trump’s “bloodbath” comment yesterday ought to be a point of no backing down for Biden. In yet another moment of Trump going lower than imaginable he did it again. That moment may constitute the single most egregious comment ever from someone who makes egregious comments daily. Still that was just a single moment because he also said that the masses of suffering people in the world are not even human. How have we ever come to this point? Americans are clearly staring into the darkest abyss in our history.

T💩p doesn’t come up with these ideas all by himself. The sociopaths who ‘advise’ him are the source of his pronouncements. Miller, Bannon, et. al. Are responsible.

And, Biden sure as hell has to deny Trump getting any security briefings. Forget norms or protocol.

Enough of this asymmetrical approach.

Telling us, as voters to vote harder puts it all on us (which we will do) but the systems around us FAILED every time.

Help us help you, Biden. And fire Garland now.

Don’t blame Garland, blame Trump.

Of course Trump is the problem! But Garland hasn’t done his job nor duties.

J6 committee served it up in the platter and Garland let the dish go cold.

Here we are.

How is this true? As a prior judge, he absolutely knows the prosecution case is imperiled if tried in court of public opinion.

The court filings he said would tell the DOJ positions have been absolutely clear.

The millions of dollars spent of DJT lawyers to block everything and delay have had a serious corrosive effect beyond AG Garland control. The SC motions are unambiguous and hard hitting, direct. The ability of DJT to create Article III branch chaos in the judiciary is Roy Cohn on steroids. How do you suspect AG Garland plays this out as prosecution whose reliant on the judges to stop in inane DJT motions?

Just remember they filed 62 cases and lost just in the run-up to Jan 20th. They want doubt, and chaos. The judges have to dial it back in.

I would think that the old "GOP" voters, who will not vote for anybody but a "GOP", would be angry that all of their donation money will go to Trump! Cruz, Hawley, and the like won't be getting any money from the MAGA party, now that Lara Trump is Chair! I hope that they are all shaking in their boots and peeing in their pants! It takes a hell of a lot of money to run these days. Another thing to thank the Supreme Court-"Citizens United"-what a double speak!

Don't forget the Supreme Court Justices who are stripping away the disability clause of the 14th amendment that strived to protect us from insurrectionists who want to get elected to federal office, the better to destroy our democracy from within.

Blame trump? Duh! Garland is spineless and timid! We need a Sally Yates or Doug Jones? We need someone with confidence in the legal world!

I thought Trump was already denied security briefings when he left office.

Biden needs to take the gloves off. This is not a boxing match, this is a bare knuckles brawl. Democrats need to be in lockstep support and get out there and shout the accomplishments of Biden.

Challenge Trumps lack of integrity and intelligence. Show how really Trump did in his 4 years. Show how he failed to fulfill his promises, that he wanted protesters shot, that looters are to be shot unless it’s Trump and his family taking bribes and grifting cash.

Make Trump produce his grades! Show all his failures, bankruptcies, fraudulent university and charity and now business practices.

The bottom line is that the majority of this country needs to put aside their petty grievances and unite behind Biden because they will have no ability to get anything once Trump is anointed king of America.

Expand full comment

Absolutely! Joe Biden is an excellent retail politician. Get rid of the hand-wringers and ATTACK!!

“ATTACK” indeed. Dems’ habitual crouching in the corner with their gloves up, epitomized by the current Attorney General, is dangerously foolish.

Biden needs to sideline the aides who keep trying to protect him from a mistake. In 2020, the American people elected the glad-handing, gaff-making, retail politician that is Joe Biden. They will vote that man in 2024. They will not vote for a china doll locked in the White House curio cabinet. Let Biden be Biden!

What kills me are all the people behind him as he spews his vile garbage, smiling and nodding or impassive... but never shocked or revulsed. When he does lose (I can't bring myself to imagine that he would win), what are these zombies going to do?

There’s millions of these people in the country. And they have guns. Welcome to America.

I keep thinking I should buy a gun before the election. But the thought of having one makes me uncomfortable for some reason.

Steve, I fully subscribe to your thesis. If, over the next 7+ months, Biden repeatedly were to project portions of his “pointed, memorable, and urgent state of the union” (quoting you), he likely would galvanize sufficient numbers to help deliver sorely needed crushing defeats up and down the ballot. However, I would advise that his speechwriters regularly produce paraphrased (and, indeed, updated) versions to ensure Biden not sound redundant. Moreover, I’d want to know strategists like yourself were prepping Biden for public appearances, whatever the size and format.

Fair or not, politics largely is perception, and performance is no less important than substance.

And yet , this morning on “ This Week”, when Martha Raddatz asked Rep Mike Rogers about Trump’s remarks about bloodbath, he tried to insinuate it wasn’t meant for real, it was about Trump’s revenge of the Big 3 automakers, and other nonsense.

Good point! What is wrong with the MSM? They accept the most dangerous statements without reacting. What’s wrong with them? Surely they do understand what’s at stake.

There's too much spin, commentary, etc. on everything that happens. If news was just news, we wouldn't be where we're at. Report what he said, make a horrified face, and me done with it.

If it was about the automakers, why did Trump go on to say that if he didn't win, we'd never have another election? Every accusation is a confession. Trump can't even pronounce the word "context," much less make sense within one and Rogers knows it.

Steve, it was hard to look at the photos you necessarily posted today. We must not look away. We need to hear what TFG says and to see photos that show the 'reality' of dehumanization. Never Forget. Thank you.

I agree, we are all human beings. However, Donald J Trump is the worse example of our humanity. He represents what is wrong in our society when over privileged individuals think they above the law. He behaved more like a mob boss than a presidential candidate or a former president. Unfortunately for us citizens, he has a following of misguided souls in high places, especially on the Supreme Court. Their decision to delay justice, is justice denied. The American people need to know if charges against Trump are truly legitimate. I believe they are but there are many individuals, mostly Republicans that need further proof of his crimes.
