"Debating" with Trump is a demeaning thing to do, dignifying him as if he makes sense. I agree with Steve that Trump is the worst president in history, with Nixon and Harding lagging a whole lap behind in second and third place. What puts Trump so far ahead is the fact he is not only ignorant of the Constitution and its true meaning,
His narcissism won’t allow him to accept the reality that he sucked as the leader of this country, and in the words of his own unreality show, the citizens of this nation said “You’re Fired!” He turns around and flips us all the bird on Jan 6 and with the fake electors plots. We are in deep deep doo-doo if he gets re-elected.
We are as a nation in this incredible mess not just because of Trumpism and the rise of American fascism but most importantly because of the failure of the Democratic Party to prevent an 80+ year old President from engaging in the most destructive act of egotism and hubris in our political history.
Thus, I will continue to repeat that darkness is coming and the responsibility is NOT just on Trump .
Susie, I hear you. I have been a huge supporter of Biden…I am so grateful for everything he has done and I believe same will continue. However, in my small family last evening, 5 Biden supporters presented major concerns based on that performance. I truly hope you are correct, that we should not assume he is done based on one night. We are in unprecedented territory…never have we faced such a threat to our Nation. My fear is not whether Biden can achieve anything, his past 4 years are proof of that to me. But if he begins to lose voters, Trump will win and we are doomed.
Biden looked so frail and exhausted and seemed unable to adequately articulate responses to the LIAR, convicted felon sitting next to him. I am so proud of Joe Biden’s record…but after tonight’s performance, knowing that we must defeat the LIAR, do we need to quickly advance another candidate?
Did you hear what Gavin Newsome said last night? Biden has worked nonstop to turn this country around and we should not assume he is done based on one night. Obama also performed badly at his first debate for his second run for president. If Biden was unable to achieve anything we would have known before now. I say stand up for him, not throw him under the bus!
