That is a sickening disgusting great ad.. like you say, more please!

i’d like to see one with a similar sequence of his business record, failures, bankruptcies previous listing on stock exchanges, findings of civil liability: i.e revealing him as the cheat, fraud and failure he is.

many people who say they’re going to vote for him cite his excellence as a businessman. it’s his origin story- spun out on the Apprentice.

in my dreams now are possible questions for the debate.

“Discuss how you see the role of the Justice Department, how you have used it and plan to in the future.”

The lying piece of shit is at it again. When will the MSM go on the offensive and show the facts that he says shit, then lies about ever saying it. They have 10,000 lies from when he was in office. There should be a web site / data base created to document everything that flaming turd says and when he lies about it - sometimes back + forth depending on the court that he is 'rallying' in front of.

Here’s some but only about 5,000 or so while he was in office

Someone has documented that he actually told like 30K - 33K lies during his time in office

There really is so much to choose from, isn't there.

The most effective way to combat Trumps lying and denialism is to use his own words against him. (Even the dimmest of MAGA folks can't deny what they see and hear). In the coming months, we need to see A LOT more ads like that one.

Jeff, unfortunately that has not been my experience with these MAGA folks. They deny what they are seeing and hearing claiming it is fake news. Now they have AI as a new excuse. These poor, delusional souls are hooked on the "Trump Joy Juice". They are addicted and complicit in the potential fall of our republic. I have a very close friend who is committed to Trump. I was on a Zoom call with him as the news of the 34 felony convictions rolled in. Five minutes before he was positive there would be a 100% not guilty verdict. Although he was clearly in distress and a state of disbelief, his first reaction was to double down on his support. Sane person, I believe so. Cult member, absolutely. Salvageable, probably not. Sad. Very sad. His face plant was memorable.

That’s why I wish the ad would’ve quoted General Kelly instead of the Atlantic, which they can dismiss

Right now, nobody is more helpful than Steve Schmidt in figuring out what to say to his fellow citizens about how things are, who people are, what can be expected to happen, and what is to be done.

another person who has their finger on the pulse in substack is: lucid@substack.com, Ruth Ben-Ghiat. She has a good article on creative actions and the use of humor to deal with the absurdity of going backwards into an alternative reality that is like entering hell's gate with Dante. She's an expert historian on authoritarism and fascism.

I understand why you have to show those assholes in videos that show their horribleness but honestly i can't watch them, i want to get on that stage grab her by her shoulders and shake the stupid out of her - don't think one can shake stupid, but boy would i like to try. I am with you all the way

In so many ways, Tr*mp is the unmistakable fruit of the “Reagan Revolution”. From racism and bigotry for the ignorant to tax breaks for the morbidly rich, “law and order” for the black or brown to ownership of the judiciary by the morbidly rich, union-crushing to stock buy-backs and private equity, to media consolidation, dark money, church-directed government, appallingly elastic ethics, ad.inf., we’re a nation in confused, disoriented turmoil. Citizens who express concern about any of the above are “radical”, as if incremental adjustments will save the day. We’ve go our work cut out for us.

I have. It’s part of what inspired my remarks here, as have numerous other marginalized Dems. It’d help if Schumer, Durbin, and various obvious others would get the hell out of the way. Thanks.

Thank you, Steve, for your continual fight for our democracy. I hope the Biden-Harris campaign are paying attention to your sage advice.

“Here is the ad that left Trump welping, angry and defensive — and demanding that that Biden remove it:” I would like to demand he take down every tweet he made defaming Mexicans as rapists, every word he ever said defaming E. Jean Carol, and the countless others who received death threats as a result. To the Biden camp, I agree 110% with Steve. Keep them coming.

"President Biden’s campaign has finally fired a negative ad that hit the target. It is true, brutal and effective. More please. Much more." Big yes from me! The thing about negative ads is, they work!

This is a fight, so the Dems better get in their stance, don't let their guard down, and, as my boxing instructor once said, "Keep punching!"

The perfect political ad never requires a voice over or pitch.

Trump is simply a projectionist. What he says about others is exact what Trump is and stands for. Trump never met a bribe he didn’t like. From the man who said he was so rich he didn’t need political contributions in 2015, we know how true that is today. And he will stoop as low as he can for any grift that makes him a buck ( gold tennis shoes, a black plastic card that does nothing, a Bible , whose contents including the constitution, he never read).

Why isn’t Trump being attacked for his stupidity? Nuke a hurricane, inject bleach, wind turbines sounds cause cancer, put a 100% tariff on all foreign made cars. Why not attack his tax cuts, failure at infrastructure, how many times he thought he was running against Obama, or WW2 will break out soon? Why isn’t he attacked for his degrading McCain because he was captured, , the avoidance of the draft with fake doctor reports, his desire for a military parade to celebrate him.

Or simply say Trump was too cowardly to testify at his trial. Why did he take boxes of documents? Could it be to sell? Or use to leverage a new hotel to be built in Moscow?

Why did daily normal briefings, that normally were 50 pages, cut down to 2 for Trump and his name had to be in each paragraph to get his attention? Talk about how many days he played golf in office? How much he took from taxpayers for room , security etal. Show how lazy and non focused he is?

Get his grades in school published?

There are so many avenues to attack this would be dictator. Yet, crickets on all of them.

The worse DNC ever. The worst campaign ever, can’t beat a convicted felon rapist, mentally ill moron. Changes are needed NOW!

What would Eisenhower say now about his Republican Party?

Eisenhower was antifa.

When Donald or Hannity or the 147 Congressional Objectors exhibit their love of fascism, ask them. "What would Eisenhower say?"

Their love of Putin and Orban says, "I HATE Ike."

Talk about spiraling out of control! His posted response to the ad was maniacal gibberish. How deaf, dumb and blind does MAGA have to be to keep supporting this dim-witted fool? He’s a privileged nepo-baby taking credit for his Daddy’s questionable business practices that netted him millions. He’s proven time and time again that he has nothing to offer the people of this nation. Never has and never will.

Kudos to the Biden-Harris campaign -- and to you Steve for posting -- this withering and dispositive upending of the hooked fish, removed from the moral cesspool in which it swims and filleted and grilled (but tossed into the garbage can unconsumed, since its toxicity remains lethal post-expiration!). At bottom, the ad garrotes this fascist right into the core of his Potemkin being and its overweening, vacuous moral character.
