I just looked at the trailer for “Bad Faith,” I’ll stream it this weekend. I’ve always know these fanatics, or leftovers of the Confederacy of Dunces, have been trying to reclaim this country in the form of Christian Nationalism or what they truly are: The Christian Taliban. First, they justified slavery as part of their ideology, and evoked god to add legitimacy for slavery, and white racial supremacy. Now they’ve come for women reproductive rights. And we all know how this ends: not well for anyone who disagrees with these people.
That said, Reagan opened the floodgates with Jerry Fawell’s Moral Majority, John Birch Society, Billy Graham, The Federalist Society, ALEC, The Heritage Foundation and The Family Research Council. George W Bush was a more affable version of these evangelicals, but brought religion into the Whitehouse as part of his identity.
Trump just grabbed the reins and took the movement to its logical conclusion. These people and their agenda is far more dangerous than even Trump; since Trump has no ideology. They will be front and center in his administration: loyal to the core, but truly loyal to their commitment in turning this country into a Christian version of Sharia Law.
I smoked a bowl and watched Bad Faith. It’s worse than I thought. The movie is dark! These people are organized, and believe they are fighting a war of good vs evil. And they will submit us to a Christian version of sharia law.
Steve is excellent as always, and he should educate us more about the subject, because he’s well versed with this content and movement; including its origins and who is bought and paid for in government.
I highly recommend it, and thank you Steve for sharing this movie.
“I am sick and tired of the political preachers across this country telling me as a citizen that, if I want to be a moral person, I must believe in A, B, C or D.
I am even more angry as a legislator who must endure the threats of every religious group who thinks it has some God-granted right to control my vote on every roll call in the Senate."
And while we fight hard as hell (as we should) against Christian Nationalism, college administrators and students are waving the flags of some of the most repressive Theocracies in the world while screaming for the death of Jewish citizens globally. Will stream "Bad Faith" this weekend.
Lazy day here, so I watched it. Had this sick feeling in my stomach the entire time. I learned about the real reason behind the pro-life movement a few years ago. It was easier to capture people about abortion than a platform of white supremacy. Which is their foundation. Trump is their stooge. Sickening. It is worth watching.
Did you hear Biden on Howard yesterday? I think he did well. Howard was so nervous : ). I'm glad he did an interview before the election. It would have been a game changer for Hillary in 2016. Her interview with him was so good after the election.
It's really crazy that, last week, I was thinking and hoping that he would do an interview with Howard and then I saw it on the app! Hopefully he will come back to speak more about his accomplishments in his administration and plans for the future.
It was so great to hear Howard talk about his experience and the reaction today.
Before I even read this article, let me make an astute observation here. It's been since the Civil Rights Act passed in 1964 that these white Christian nationalists started to get their panties in a bunch.
They’ve been planning & scheming what we see happening today in the background with ex-president Adolf Shitler for decades not just the last 6 to 10 years.
I know this because I have witnessed it. Carry on.
The Bad Faith Documentary is highly commendable and puts a lot of moving pieces together in just 1.5 hours -a success; we so urgently need to understand what is driving the chaos we're now seeing. Bad Faith is a must see and must share to help save our Democracy!
Well done, Steve Schmidt! It is urgent that we better understand Christian Nationalism. Thank you.
Quote about Bad Faith from The Guardian: “The divisiveness and the distrust of institutions that we’re seeing today was part of a plan,” said Ujlaki. “It was a result of an actual plan, successfully executed to get to this point. And once the institutions are weakened and people have lost faith in elections, there’s room for the strongman to come in.”
Jesus said, "love thy neighbor as thyself" So where is hate and loathe "the other" found in the words of Jesus? Love, love, and more love & compassion, that is the foundation of Jesus. All life on Earth is sacred, or we all will indeed perish for good. Amen
Tim Alberta wrote an excellent book about the Christian extremists — The Kingdom, the Power, and the Glory: American Evangelicals in the Age of Extremism.
They simply don’t believe in compromise or that good people can have a valid point of view different from their own.
Goddamn, Steve. Another sleepless night after watching Bad Faith. Even if Biden wins the votes, the crazed Christians will start a war, with Trump egging them on. My phone banking plan seems so weak in light of what we are up against. Please, please, go up on mainstream media with the kind of disruption and disorientation the old Lincoln Project that was so successful at getting under Trump’s skin. Surely there are deep Hollywood pockets that would fund you and your team.

Be afraid, be very afraid!…:)
Sounds like Trump is a useful idiot for evil doers.
Exactly!…:)

Was good to see you included, Steve.
Watched the documentary last night. Alarming & chilling.

I will see the doc. It looks really good.
I hope Teddy is okay.

Oh boy this interview made me cry. Biden was so good.

I’ve been using Chump for the Ex President, but Shitler has its merits.

I just watched the film, and plan to watch it again.
It's really well done, and filling in a lot of history that I did not know.

I would tell them Jesus saves, Moses invests but only Buddha pays dividends.
U R Always Spot On- Thx Steve👌
Will someone please ban Frank Lee from making any more stupid ass comments on this thread?
I personally have him blocked, but I still have to see his bullshit and I don’t like it.
