Steve, I address you and your infinite wisdom...in confronting the way that our media...and I mean every outlet...insists on flashing not one but ten Trump images with every story that involves him and of course, at this point, it is nearly half the news time. I've been an NBC news producer. I know you have to place images with audio but showing so many images of this man subliminally plants him gloriously in the minds of too many. We are thus doing what he hopes we will do. Give him airtime. Give him space in the collective mind. Show one image of him per story...no problem...then show images of ..well, anything else. Has no one realized that blasting so many images of him...no matter how venal or orange he looks....is doing exactly what he hopes for. He raises money with every indictment. Does the impartial news media have to help keep him visually front and center. Visuals have power...that audio does not. I would think my media colleagues would understand that!

On 'The Warning' youtube today, Steve Schmidt has placed a few brilliantly chosen and well-placed photos of DJT for a brief moment, photos that show the true grotesque, insane, and evil character of the criminal who is trying to overthrow our Democracy. What I see, predominately, in these Warning videos is Steve's powerful up close presence and powerful delivery of the TRUTH of what is happening in our country. The brief photos of DJT interspersed with Steve's image, his 15 minute message, his powerful eye contact, show direct and appropriate CONTRAST with DJT which enhances what Steve has to say. We can see what a leader looks like (Schmidt) in direct contrast to the images of the leader of the MAGA-CULT who intents to destroy our country.

Steve's THE WARNING youtube channel already has 170,000 subscribers and is gaining about 1000 new subscribers per day now. The top comment on today's youtube by LC Walsh says "nobody could have said it better, thanks Steve for your contribution to our country and democracy...." Steve, you are a home-run hitter and you knocked it our of the ball park today!

Yes. Agree with every word you have written here.

We don’t seem to have an impartial news media!

I've been thinking the same thing and totally agree.

Agree 100%! Obviously the media hasn’t learned that one lesson from 2016! Airtime is his goal and he gets it every day! “Brrr Rabbit is, indeed, in the briar patch!”

Agree 100%! He’s even said as much. Airtime, good or bad, is exactly what he wants! As the old story goes,”Brrr Rabbit is in the briar patch!” Apparently, the media hasn’t learned that one thing from 2016‼️

The problem is that it is not " us"that knows to look away that is the problem.I can see a million Trump images and won't be influenced. As is true for you and so many. But It is the undecided, still impressionable and perhaps undecided who don't quite get how visuals can plant an image and then influence the way you perceive that individual.

I literally change the channel whenever his face appears on the screen. I already know the story before the news comes on.

The bottom line: "Of the People, By the People, For the People"; Nobody is above the law in America. Thank you Steve Schmidt for so clearly explaining the gravity of the unprecedented waters we're in and for your 24/7 relentless devotion to protecting our Democracy: We The People!

Heather Cox Richardson 8/14/23: "Trump has called the case against him in Georgia partisan and launched a series of attacks on Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis. Today, Willis told a reporter who asked about Trump’s accusations of partisanship: “I make decisions in this office based on the facts and the law. The law is completely nonpartisan. That's how decisions are made in every case. To date, this office has indicted, since I’ve been sitting as the district attorney, over 12,000 cases. This is the eleventh RICO indictment. We follow the same process. We look at the facts. We look at the law. And we bring charges."

Thank you, Steve. It is impossible to overstate the magnitude of 45’s crimes. That his attempted overthrow was unsuccessful in no way mitigates his guilt or that of his co-conspirators. I remarked on your Youtube channel that this should be a daily PSA. Your point needs to be repeated frequently and forcefully, and no one does it better than Steve Schmidt.

With this recent video offering, remarking on the latest Trump indictment coming out of Georgia I finally understood an important truth..

The words, ideas, views, concepts are all the same..The same message that you have been putting forward from the beginning..There are just so many ways to convey a set of facts..At some point it must simply be repeated over and over and over again..

This is what you have been doing..I finally came to understand that there is nothing else to be said..It just needs to be repeated..as you are doing so eloquently..

For me however, I see and feel that an additional path is available..And in as much as I would like to believe that the ballot box is the place where all of this changes, I have misgivings as to it’s effectiveness..

I believe we have arrived at a juncture where a different action must be taken in order to return to the founding ideals of this country..I mentioned it once before when speaking to Lincoln’s realization that he must take certain actions in order to save the Union..

It is a dirty, messy, repugnant, disgusting desperate set of measures..yet I believe necessary to the salvation of our Republic..And if I had the skills, wherewithal, resources and connections..I would do it in a heartbeat..Alas, I don’t, therefore it will only take shape in my imagination..

We're ignoring the fact that a lot of Republicans are fine with overturning the election because they claim Democrats are such a dangerous threat to America that it's justified. John Eastman makes that exact argument, claiming that "abuses become so intolerable that it becomes not only their right but their duty to alter or abolish the existing government."

This is why Republicans claim they'll still support Trump if he's their nominee, because Joe Biden - Joe Biden! - is such a threat to America that they have to elect the guy who refused to concede power when he lost an election and turned America on its head. And rarely - actually never - have I heard a journalist ask them to explain exactly what policies of Biden's they're so terrified of and why they're so much more dangerous than what Trump has done.

Yes!! Agree with what you said KO about the MAGAites truly believing the Democrats are enough of a threat to America that it justifies overturning an election. That is the scary truth we are dealing with. I think alot of it has to do with the Christian Nationalists who believe that “the other” in whatever form that takes stands against the “principles of God”, therefore God will remove his blessing from America and what Christian Nationalists feel is their “manifest destiny”.

Yes DJT is the worst we have seen as a President. It is my hope that a jury of his peers, based on the evidence, will find him guilty. Those others named including the 30 or do unnamed but know who assisted in the attempt should also be held accountable. All of them without exception

My graver concern are those who would still consider supporting him then and now. What happened to the concept of ethics, morality, and rule of law.

Well said.

The notion that this nation was treated as a buffet by a glutinous buffoon who would ruin every particulate he didn't outright consume, that we were, and continue to be terrorized by such a malignant yet imbecilic sociopath is beyond astounding; to really contemplate the full scope of our recent saga is assaultive to the mind and nearly unbearable.

But, we must believe that mighty, diligent, honorable and weighty justice is at hand.

The rule of law, a major cornerstone of democracy, is being tested here as it has never been tested before. I hope that by the time Trump goes to trial, that a vast majority Americans will clearly see what a vicious, dangerous threat he is to our democracy and to our freedoms. He is, plain and simple, a villainous traitor who betrayed his oath and his country in an historically unparalleled fashion. But like all fascist despots, he will not go lightly. Americans need to gird themselves for a protracted legal battle with these traitors and for an all-out final assault by Trump and his fascist minions on the precepts of truth and integrity. We need to stop them here and now. If we do not, we will not have a democracy left to fight for. For me, I want my children and grandchildren to enjoy the same, if not better, fruits of democracy that I have enjoyed. I owe them that. We owe each other as fellow Americans that as well. Carpe diem!

It is interesting to note that Putin like Trump is now trying to grasp the last straw. There is an indirect attempt to get the Ukrainians’ concession of their territory in exchange for NATO membership. Like Trump the oily beast is trying to find a final slippery escape. After breaking the informal promise to keep peace post Nuclear arsenal transfer, and launching a catastrophic devastation on a peaceful neighbor, Putin is once again trying to send a message of yet another promise, as he inches closer to his own self inflicted demise.

These Steve Schmidt messages mean a lot to me. They draw in every single simple element over and over again, so that I believe James Madison and Thomas Jefferson themselves would exclaim "Right. That's exactly what I intended."

Which clears away so much recent static such as: do we let in Muslim gays who are poor? or, just those who are rich? Etc.

It is a relief to see the wheels of justice move, albeit slowly, toward accountability. Sadly, all of the oxygen is taken up with Trump, his indictments, his flagrant disregard of the law, his all-caps tweets, etc. The nation will Not heal until the Republican cult burns to the ground and gets resurrected as an effectual law abiding political party that believes in Democracy and the Constitution. One of the first steps toward this goal is for an alternative presidential nominee to be identified and supported. You have suggested in previous posts that Chris Christie or Tim Scott are possibilities. Can you pontificate on what we can do to make this happen? Personally, I can't imagine Tim Scott being successful as the party is so blatantly racist. So let's focus on Chris Christie for now. Let's put aside his baggage, his Bridge Gate scandal, and all of the objections that everyone here will raise. I would love to hear you talk about a road map toward this goal. And I would love to see you involved (somehow) in building visibility and support.
