The American people must not allow the president of the United States, an ignorant fool named Trump, to hand Vladimir Putin military victory in a war of aggression.
WASHINGTON — The State Department this week terminated a U.S. Agency for International Development initiative that has invested hundreds of millions of dollars to help restore Ukraine's energy grid from attacks by the Russian military, according to two USAID officials working on the agency’s Ukraine mission.
Shame on every representative not working immediately to pass articles of impeachment and on every senator who would refuse to convict and eject the monster in the oval office.
Have you looked at this web site? Americans should donate, but not through anonymous sites, such as this. Who set up this site? This type of on-line giving, without knowing the organizational history and legitimacy is ripe for fraud.
President Trump and JD Vance were despicable. I immediately called my Republican Representative in Congress and said I want him to speak out against Trump and Vance and their disrespectful treatment of President Zelenski. That Trump sounded like Putin! Disgusting!
I called my congressman Lawler three minutes after the bully session. Remarkably, a staff member took the call. He was incredibly sad and I asked that my congressman stand up for decency. I started to cry and he told me he would pass in my message. I was stunned to hear Lawler’s name just now, as one of the first R’s to criticize the catastrophe. In tomorrow’s Saturday protest, I’m going to hold a sign thanking Lawler for standing up for our ally, for decency.
Not so fast. I support Ukraine, and providing individual citizen donations. But, where does this site originate from? How did you find this site? Thank you.
I see it the other way: Zelensky never wanted to hand Ukraine’s minerals over to Trump, particularly when he couldn’t be trusted to give Ukraine what it needs to win against Putin. I think Zelensky was following the lead of the three other European leaders that met with Trump this week: each of them corrected Trump every time he lied. As did Zelensky…and Trump just couldn’t handle it. In short: Trump efforts to extort Zelensky: Zelensky: 2; Trump: 0.
I am so glad that Zelensky stopped the deal to send Trump Ukraine's minerals. Trump is a crook, he would take the minerals and still screw the Ukrainians, and the American people, too!
We need our Republican Representatives to start an impeachment process for both Trump and Vance. Musk needs to be fired and his enormous contracts frozen.
I emailed my Rep. today-Lauren Boebert. I was nice and tried to appeal to her as a woman and a mother. Hope I can get through to her, about duty to protect our democracy. She will either reconsider her feelings towards Ukraine and saving our democracy, or she will turn my name into Trump, and his "brown shirts!
We know how orange deals ... it's all for him. The lies about he's for the world ... no, he's for taking over the world and enriching himself. His words had nothing to do with the American people. T first, that's all there is.
Respectfully, I agree Americans should donate to Ukraine. I disagree that it should be done this way. We should have the name, contact information, history, etc. of any organization collecting monies for Ukraine first. This type of solicitation is open for too much potential fraud. Sorry.
Susan Rice just said that Zelensky was "set up", on MSNBC. Prime time TV for Trump! I hope that Rubio has the courage to resign as Sec. of State. I can't believe that he actually goes along with Trump's ideals! We will soon become a third world country in the eyes of the world! Putin will be celebrating, along with his buddies! Trump is so stupid, that he actually believes that Putin "likes" him. He doesn't, he is just Putin's pawn! Unfortunately, we have to live with the consequences!
Rubio won't resign. Did you hear him on CNN being interviewed by Katlyn Collins? He was all jacked up, like Jim Jordon gets, and kept spewing forth all manner of disrespect towards Zelenskyy. He'll NEVER! resign. Rubio is beyond pathetic.
Absolutely Deborah! President Trump and JD Vance were despicable. I immediately called my Republican Representative in Congress and said I want him to speak out against Trump and Vance and their disrespectful treatment of President Zelenski. That Trump sounded like Putin! Disgusting!
Much of what Steve has written in his years doing this blog has been mostly on target. I cannot at all agree with his total denigration of the Bidens. Trump's rise and reelection is not at all Joe Biden's fault. He was left being unchallenged by ANYONE in the Democratic Party, long past 2022 when those interested should have been rising. (Where was Tim Ryan, one of Steve's heroes?)
Trump and his henchmen are solely the responsibility of Newt Gingrich and Mitch McConnell. More than anyone, McConnell gave us the situation we are now in. On his way out, he can say all those things he should have said and enforced obedience to in the party back in 2015. Then he could have easily assured an impeachment. But he went along and has gone along for ten years. And his reputation is reaping when he so gleefully sowed.
I appreciated parts of today’s blog about the unconscionable behavior of your president and vp. But I agree that Trump’s reelection is not totally Biden’s fault. Steve has had his claws out for the Bidens for quite a while and I thought that he had put to bed his ill feelings towards them. I was wrong and I’m tired of his refrain in diminishing a President who sought to help the middle class and elevate the less fortunate and demonstrated his respect for all Americans.
I agree and also largely agree with Steve. Not on this though. Through it all, keep in mind that Steve is a recovering Republican strategist, consultant and operative. Bad addictions are hard to beat. I don't say this lightly but out of respect to Steve, I need to share that tough love of truth and reality with him.
Past party affiliation has nothing to do with Steve’s take on Biden. Steve’s assessment of Biden, and what happened when Biden didn’t keep his promise to go play with the grandkids on the Chesapeake, comes from an extraordinary understanding of how and why things fall in place the way they do.
I had been a deeply engaged member of the Democratic Party for decades, and I had the same reaction as Steve did, and I have the same opinion on what happened, and how we got to this totally fucked up moment in our country’s history.
I voted for Biden the first time hoping he would be the one-term "transitional President" he alluded to. I too was disappointed by his decision to runt a second time. I didn't like the process of appointing Harris instead of giving the party a chance to weigh in.
That said to singularily blame Biden for this disaster of an administration is dishonest.
To not put equal or far greater blame on McConnell and the rest of the Republicans for failing to convict after two impeachments and falling in line with the as yet unelected felon had nothing to do with it right?
Respectfully, you're wrong. Anyone who went after Biden was swarmed. I know, I was a swarmer. I kept hearing how sharp he was in private, how all the problems were due to his stutter. But he was out of it looong before 2023, apparently. His ego and his cocoon kept him in place. Then Gaza came and he put us on the fascist side - for that is what Netanyahu is. And now we're all gonna pay for it.
Anyone would have put us on the Israeli side. At least Biden pushed back again Israel's actions. Trump is fine with whatever they want to do. That situation is not something that can be fixed any time soon. Everybody who has any memory of the 20th century is going to have to die out first.
Right. Only once all the Palestinians are gone will that be fixed. I suspected but now I am sure of you and can cheerfully and permanently mark you as the worst sort of racist. I've met your kind all my life.
I can’t abide at all the Biden stuff, Steve. It’s misplaced, especially here today. Totally. So thank you Charlotte for speaking up. I quite agree with you Steve on what’s sordidly happening today in America and almost all of what you warn about. It’s beneath our American dignity. It’s not constructive in any way, except for Putin.
And there are extremely important laws to be followed, especially those regarding war crimes as Steve carefully describes.
I agree Charlotte. Biden should not have run, but, blaming him for Trump’s monstrous behavior is unseemly and no longer relevant. Our nation is under siege and all of our focus belongs on stopping Trump and his henchmen.
Two things can be true at the same time. Biden was a very decent and accomplished President. I will forever be appreciative of that and his service to this country. It is also true that he significantly contributed to trump's return to the presidency. Yes, there are many, many factors in that, including those that you mention. But Biden lying and not keeping his word about being a one term transitional president to a new generation of democratic leaders, propped up by his campaign staff and wife, who all lied to the American people about his ability to serve 4 more years, was unfortunately one of, if not THE MOST, significant factors in trump winning the election in November.
It prevented an actual primary that would have allowed voters to decide who their candidate would be. Lying about his mental health, the border, and the economy that affects average Americans who know they can't pay their bills but don't give a damn about macro-economics (what Biden and Harris touted), all allowed trump to appear to be honest on those issues - and they are what mattered to many voters. It forced Harris to be the nominee rather than being elected and for trump, vance, and maga to all identify her as a "DEI hire". Sure, she was absolutely qualified, but when the other side has co-opted and vilified "woke" and DEI" for years, then we hand them that?
I could go on, but the point is that in spite of his many amazing accomplishments, Biden will be remembered historically for his failures, and the epically failed decisions surrounding the election that paved the final months of trump's victory.
I really don't care of Biden did or did not swear to have only one term. There were NO younger Democrats willing to stand up against Trump in his place. If a qualified group had shown their faces, instead of sitting on their hands, maybe Biden would have felt comfortable about 2024. NOBODY CAME FORTH. Kamala was too little, too late.
It would be awesome if you were right, but you are revising history to suit your narrative and opinion. The facts don't support that. Once Biden announced he was running in 2024 on April 25, 2023, it killed any possibility of a real primary challenge. That's why "nobody came forth" (putting it in all CAPS doesn't make you right). Leave revising history to the maga bastards; we should know better. That includes you.
Biden's decision and denial of reality, propped up by those around him, was the single most destructive decision that could have been made and paved the road for trump's victory. Other things cleared the path for that road, but his decision to run iced it. So, no, it's not all Biden's fault, but he bears the distinct honor of giving us both trump 1.0 and 2.0.
I agree that Kamala was "too little, too late", but that's because Biden decided to run and when it became obvious to everyone on planet earth that he couldn't handle a debate, let alone another term, she was forced into the candidate's role so the DNC didn't lose over $100M in contributions AND was left with 107 days (with Biden's failed campaign staff) to counter trump's 2 year campaign. It was set up to fail, and sadly it did, because of Biden. Facts, not opinions, matter.
I remember where I was standing, and what kind of light the early evening was casting across the view when Biden reneged on his one term promise.
Do you remember the moment when you heard that Biden was going to run again? I don’t think so because of you did, you would have understood that that reneging might just spell the doom of the democrats for years to come.
I TOTALLY AGREE with your comments, Ms Miller. Denigrating Biden was unnecessary. Trump was elected (I use the term loosely) under a cloud of suspicion.
Ditto to your remarks about Gingrich and McConnell. McConnell especially, has so much to answer for, although he is equaled by CFDT.
Biden and his administration have come and gone! Yes, he made mistakes, that could have affected how the election went down. He should not have pardoned his son; although he might have feared Trump's evil revenge against Hunter, if he didn't pardon him. And yes, he should have kept his promise to just be a one term president. With that said, it is now Trump/Musk, and their administration, who are in the White House; let's focus on them, and see, and comment, on how things are going with them in charge!
Charlotte, Biden promised be would not run for a second term and then he did. When a sitting president says he will run again, there is rarely a challenge. I think the last time was when Ted Kennedy challenged Carter. And because of all the lying and protecting of Biden by his inner circle, he only finally decided to step down but by then it was too late for a decent primary of challengers to materialize, and because of back room politicking, Harris got the nod over everyone else.
He was left unchallenged because Pelosi & the other “power brokers” in the DNC discouraged anyone who had any such notions, I’d bet on it. They were likely told that they’d receive no financial assistance or endorsements from the DNC if they challenged Biden, just like they froze out Bernie when he was clearly the people’s choice. Pelosi, the DNC, & the DC consultant class always think they know better than the voting public.
Biden should have put his ego aside & announced that he was not going to run again. This mess is indeed partially his fault.
I think this is about Trump and Vance today. They are the ones who disgraced the high offices of our nation in front of the world. President Zelenskyy, a brave and honorable man, had to sit there and be yelled at by two fools who sit at the right hand of Putin. Blackmailing Zelenskyy is not going well for Trump and Vance.
Their base will love it. Lindsey Graham has already suggested Zelensky should step down. What a great defender of freedom and the world order! Zelensky never should have come here. It was a set-up if he didn't publicly demean himself.
We should all flood Graham's office with emails and/or calls. Calling him out for what he is: a wishy-washy chicken shit! He should be disgraced for turning against Zelenski, just because Trump/Vance bullied him today! Graham deserves no respect! He has no spine!
Trump is on the verge of being complicit in war crimes. Putin has approached him about taking rare earth minerals from Ukraine land that the Russians took from Ukraine by war and bloodshed. To take any part of a deal with Russia that is not fully sanctioned by Ukraine makes Trump complicit with Putin in war crimes.
I am so ashamed of the United States—we not only have inept, impotent, tyrannical crybabies inhabiting the White House, we have a population who unifyingly supports President Zelensky, who wants Ukraine to maintain rightful ownership of their minerals, who join Ukraine in sorrow and loss, and who passionately abhor the behavior of this administration. I want to set up a citizen based funding for Ukraine, I join all others who find this moment wholesale devastating. President Zelensky: Americans are horrified at the White House reception of you and your strength, clarity of leadership, and the inestimable courage you have evidenced for these three long years. Americans want to help~ 💌
"I want to set up a citizen based funding for Ukraine..."
What a great idea. I would contribute a great deal to such a fund.
Steve, we trust you as an honorable man. I disagree with you at times, but if you set up such a fund I would trust that the money would go to Ukraine. If you set it up, I will immediately contribute $500.
I spent about $235 to purchase 4 battlefield emergency kits for wounded soldiers from White Stork.
Mark Hamill heads an org that refurbishes donated used drones to send to Ukraine. I don’t remember it’s name right now. I know I’ve seen it on Mark’s page on Twitter but I’m not on there anymore.
Wow! I have never seen you so angry! And rightfully so. This was a disgrace to Zelenskyy, a disgrace of the America. Government , a disgrace to the American people and our values. We need REAL LEADERSHIP. And we need to throw these bums out. They’re not only raping our country, they’re destroying the stability of the world.
That’s exactly what happened, those 2 piss ants ambushed President Zelenskyy!!! Teamed up on him in front of the cameras, sickening. 🤬
They expected him to beg, plead, & grovel; & when he didn’t, they became really angry. Trump especially was enraged that this warrior would not kowtow to him. What a disgusting venal display by the person who is supposed to be a president of the USA. I despise him.
What is even more disgusting is that they did this in broad daylight for the world to witness. I’m enraged for all decent people everywhere. Please rid the world of this regime. Rise up. 🇨🇦
That insipid Lindsay Graham just was in front of the cameras getting the Republican talking points out, i.e., Zelenskyy is a bad dude and we should not help (extort) him any more. What I want to know is- WHERE IS SEN SCHUMER. Called Kelly, Gallego, and Schumer’s office to express my opinion.
I feel the same shame and outrage at Trump and Vance’s contemptuous, dishonorable and deplorable treatment of President Zelenskyy. Never in my life did I expect an American President and Vice President to insult and belittle a man committed to defending his country against the military assault and invasion of a viscous and bloodthirsty dictator bent on destroying his country, while taking the side of the of the dictator, a man also bent on destroying our country. I cannot lose my soul by supporting Trump in any way.
Trump is a dictator, low class thug and gangster who has no honor. Corporal Vance is a hateful buffoon. Both are traitors to our country, and liberty everywhere. We have become a criminal nation and the greatest threat to peace in the world. All senior military leaders should publicly protest his action and resign rather than carry out his criminal orders.
President Zelenskyy is a beacon of liberty and patriot. Slava Ukraini! Death to Putin and all that support him.
Exactly my feelings Steve Dundas. What we witnessed today was stomach churning & shameful. Those two thugs planned that ambush for the cameras!! I believe they thought Zelenskyy would beg & grovel, & when he didn’t, they completely lost it. I wish they could both be struck by a bolt of lightning
What do I see in that picture? A hero named Zelenskiy who is fighting for his country on the left and two worthless douchebags on the right, neither of which is fit to lead, inspire, or manage anything more meaningful than the towel dispenser in the men's room at a cheap brothel.
I whole heartily agree but as a woman could we maybe find another derogatory term other than douchebags. It’s probably out of habit but it’s a degrading term associated with women in general. ( kind of like the word bitch). I know I’m being petty and probably WOKE but …..We have to start somewhere. 🤷♀️. If I think of a better more neutral description of these disgusting, useless, and very insecure individuals, I’ll let you know. Thank you 🙏
Absolutely agree! This appeared to me to be a “set up.” The cowards way of not having to have an actual dialogue with President Zelenskyy.
And now we have this:

Trump and Vance are historical disgraces for all this country has stood for. I am ashamed.
Agree, it is totally shameful.
Viva UKRAINE and long live their fearless leader Zalenskyy!!! I stand with righteousness. I stand with Ukraine!!!!
Lindsay Graham can crawl back under stall door in the senate men’s room… on all fours where he belongs
What a cowardly shit, Graham is! May he rot in Hell; along with the rest of them, who are betraying America and its people, in the name of Trump!
Gobble, gobble, gobble
He needs a nap and warm milk. Maybe ask his babysitter who is by his side 24/7.

Trump and Vance are living cancers. Thanks Steve for speaking TRUTH to IMPOTENCE.

Democrats move to gesture IMPEACHMENT!! Now is the moment!
Waste of time. Impeachment has been neutered through party polarization.
Democrats do nothing
Pitiful Democrats. A kazoo would be appreciated!

Thank you. I've already donated to US24 and will look up your suggestion. We all need to "put our money where our mouths are."
Thank you, Donna~ I have donated and will continue to advocate for everyone in my circle to join us. 💌
I donated to White Stork for battlefield emergency kits.
Even though today was designated for an economic boycott, after seeing footage of that ambush, I sent a donation to United24 Ukraine.

They thought he would cower and tremble in their weak, pathetic presence.
Right, and when he presented facts from his and his country's perspective instead of kissing their asses, they had a tantrum.
Schumer is a useless Washington lackey, standing for nothing! We need another leader!
Schumer must be having gentleman’s lunch somewhere. What a lazy self serving checked -out POS he is. Useless …. Almost a member of the other team
Steve,
I feel the same shame and outrage at Trump and Vance’s contemptuous, dishonorable and deplorable treatment of President Zelenskyy.
Thank you and watch your six,
Steve Dundas
Exactly my feelings Steve Dundas. What we witnessed today was stomach churning & shameful. Those two thugs planned that ambush for the cameras!! I believe they thought Zelenskyy would beg & grovel, & when he didn’t, they completely lost it. I wish they could both be struck by a bolt of lightning
What do I see in that picture? A hero named Zelenskiy who is fighting for his country on the left and two worthless douchebags on the right, neither of which is fit to lead, inspire, or manage anything more meaningful than the towel dispenser in the men's room at a cheap brothel.
Great imagery Warren!! Thx
Thank you 🙏
