Tonight, I share my reaction to Donald's Trump's first remarks after pleading not guilty to 34 felony charges in New York today. His speech made clear his strategy for the wretched months ahead. He will slander, demean and diminish America. He will demand retribution and vengeance against all of his enemies.
Here’s a quote from Trump’s speech tonight: “We are a nation in decline. And now these radical left lunatics want to interfere with our elections by using law enforcement. We can’t let that happen”. HOW PROFOUNDLY STUPID, not to mention, undermining. And to think about the morons in the audience who applauded Trump after saying that. I celebrated Trump’s indictment and if he goes to jail, I’m throwing a party.
Every now and then, I’m go on “News-Detox Retreats”, aka vacations....but it requires a deliberate “break” from watching or listening to the news! (Cruises are ideal for this purpose!)!!
Understood. Spare yourself from watching that insanity. Between Steve’s remarks today and the one quote I shared, you certainly get the gist. The “wheels are comin’ off the Trump train”....I do believe! And THAT DOES deserve a celebration!!
So TFG is the 'Victim' and is calling for retribution and vengeance! This is a pathetic sight for sure.
The real victims are millions of Americans and their children who will suffer the consequences of DJT's pathetic tantrums. DJT, who lost an election and incited an insurrection, is the ruthless, heartless, grifting-asshole of America. Tim Ryan, on the zoom session (which was astounding and inspiring!) mentioned the need for a 'trauma-informed' society. He has a good idea of what has happened to millions of Americans and for the need to HEAL. DJT just wants more violence. The children with no voice and no choice are the real victims, many of whom will suffer long-term damages from this. I strongly feel that DJT and the GOP, by knowingly perpetuating fear and anger among their 'followers', are inadvertently responsible for significant levels of child abuse in this country, not to mention a million deaths from Covid, and the early deaths and dis-eases caused by years of this insanity. This is pathetic. We are better than this. Thank you, Steve, Ryan, A. Braggs, and all here on this forum!
Yes, glad that Michael Moore weighed in on this. It was a very busy day for me, but i notice that Tom Nichols, editor of The Atlantic Daily newsletter, also discussed this very same phenomenon of DJT and Don Jr's authoritarian intimidation tactics.
I missed the entire show today, and this weekend as a matter of fact. I have been without tv and internet fir 4 days. Still without tv, so, unfortunately I missed how the indicted felon is going to make America great again! What a joke. Fir 4 years he did his best to destroy democracy and the I’m United States as we all know it. Now, he’s trying to undermine our constitution and laws by pulling his crap. He was a sick o in the 70s, 80s, 90s, and up until he was elected. He’s always been a crook. A leopard doesn’t and can’t change its spots!
Actually, my son came up and found out I have been residing under a local bridge. He spent 4 days finding me an apartment I could survive in. Being disabled has its disadvantages, believe me.
I’m kind of glad I missed all the drama on TV, although I’d love to actually see him sitting at the defendants table, since we tried to put him there in the 80s & 90s. He kept sliding on everything back then because he always had his cronies do all his dirty work. Now all his cronies are turning against him.
Besides, we get a much better version on here afterwards. We get the truth’
Daniel, I'm glad to hear that your circumstances are improving. We must prioritize taking care of ourselves, our families and our communities during these tumultuous times. Watching too much about DJT, I find, is toxic to my system. It is time to heal. I hope you get the chance to listen to the Tim Ryan/Steve zoom session. They talk about the state of our country, including homelessness. Very Best to you, Lisa
Thanks loads, Lisa. I appreciate it a lot. My son had to return to Florida last night so he could be at work today. He’s going to be going in two days with no sleep himself. But I’m okay. This is a nice affordable unit. The people that bought this and 4 other apartment complexes are completely remodeling them. So when they get finished it will be a real nice place. It’s where I can afford the rent, so that’s a plus. Especially with my daughter sticking me with the bill at the older place, which is going to turn into over $5,000 with the mess she left behind.
Daniel, I'm glad that your housing arrangement will be a nice place. I'm in a challenging transition, too, so I understand some of what you're experiencing. I'm doing my best to 'enjoy the journey' (that's not been easy, but each day and each moment matters -Life!) Very best to you! Lisa
Thanks, Lisa. Best of luck to you in your transition, whatever it is, and brings. If I can be if any help with moral support, don’t be bashful! Email me! We’ll chat.
Thanks, Janet. No, you don’t sound like a Republican. You are far from it. You are sincere when you tell me that. And you have no idea how it makes this lonely old man feel.
Absolutely. Especially when the good stuff the dentist shoots into your mouth wears off! Get some good rest gal. You earned it!!! I’m thinking of you, too! ❤️❤️
Janet, I'm sorry for this pain you?re in. I remember when life was so easy. Whew. It is enjoyable to have some friends from The Warning -now we know Daniel! I'll read the Michael Moore article soon. I've reached a point where I hardly know what day of the week it is. Peace:)
Thanks, Janet. I appreciate it, a lot! I hope I never have to go through what I’ve been through the last few months ever again. I’m not sure my system can stand it!
Meanwhile, there's an excellent guest essay in the NYTimes tonight by two experts saying D.A. Bragg has a case that is neither "political," "novel," nor "weak," but right in line with a tradition of the Manhattan D.A. prosecuting white-collar criminals like Trump.
The speech such as it was was to reassure his base. It was dark, with all his well worn tropes, with a few new wrinkles added in. I expect when the Georgia and the DOJ actions occur, the speech will be modified. We are not the audience, MAGA is
Oh Steve you said this so well. Thank you, Thank you once again for putting this tragedy into truthful perspective. I have faith and hope that they will all be put in their place (which is no where close to the White House EVER again all of them.
I am hopeful that the judge, here in New York City, will slap the Mango Mussolini with a gag order. Apparently the judge's warning to the malignant narcissist about intemperate comments went unheeded. And so it goes.
I’m feeling more and more that the question of what to do about our broken politics / treasonous GOP and Trump are two separate issues to be dealt with..I did not hear his remarks once he returned to Florida..Your’s were all I needed to get the gist..
True indeed….. Think I’ll leave the bubble and head back to Saigon soon. It’s going to get ugly but there I don’t have to watch it 24\7, although Donny’s quite popular in Vietnam. I’ll be planning jungle safaris up Kantum way and that should keep me occupied!

Party sounds great. Crab dip and old bay wings.
I'm in!
Hallelujah! Can I join. too? I'll bring pigs-in-a-blanket - they got him almost wrapped up...
Love pigs-in-a-blanket....We might be onto something here! C’mon down to Florida...we’ll just stay clear of DeDipShitSantis
Yeah, that kind of Dip you mentioned is not allowed at the party!
I’m coming too! I will bring an entire restaurant and several cases of champagne 🥂
re: the pig-in-the blanket: Is TFG a weiner or a loser? So befuddling!
I think he’s both Lisa. He’s proven it’s possible to be a wiener and a loser at the same time.
Absolutely!

It seems the entire nation has PTSD to some extent. People are craving political change.

Lisa---Bravo! And thank you
I was doubly impressed and inspired. I feel that you'll really appreciate this session. XO
I didn't know how multi-faceted Tim Ryan is. This session today: what incredible timing.
I couldn’t bear to watch tfg tonight. Thanks for taking one for the team, Steve.
45’s remarks tonight could/should get him muzzled.
That's right. I expect a gag order to be placed on Trump after he was given a reprieve earlier today.
Yes, glad that Michael Moore weighed in on this. It was a very busy day for me, but i notice that Tom Nichols, editor of The Atlantic Daily newsletter, also discussed this very same phenomenon of DJT and Don Jr's authoritarian intimidation tactics.
The act gets less polished and more desperate every single day. 😂🤪🤷🏻♂️

Glad that your family has helped get you into a better housing situation.
I agree with you about getting a better sense of the truth after a bit of time has passed.

We Finally Know the Case Against Trump, and It Is Strong

Ms. Agnifilo is a former Manhattan chief assistant district attorney. Mr. Eisen is a senior fellow at the Brookings Institution.

Excellent synopsis of todays news of justice. What the real news of today was is that Finland officially joined NATO.

And his brainwashed supporters will try to give him exactly what he wants.
His hair looks like a bee hive.
Thanks for watching his speech, Steve. I couldn't bring myself look at him again yesterday, and his lazy style of speech makes my skin crawl.
More like cotton candy.

Fascinating! Please keep us posted our your travels and experiences. Perspective! Thanks.
that makes sense, VietNam is a communist country.
