What would John McCain make of politics in 2024?
PLUS: My Scripps News "Two-Minute Warning" for this past week
Last week, I had the opportunity to talk to Katie Couric on The Warning podcast. Within a few minutes — perhaps not surprisingly — she turned the tables and started to ask me questions, including “what would John McCain think of today’s politics in the era of Trump?” You can hear my response below. If you’d like to watch or listen to the full episode, you can do so on YouTube, Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or your preferred podcast platform.
My Two-Minute Warning
On “The Race Weekend” on Scripps News, I shared my “Two-Minute Warning” for this past week:
I go back a long way with Trump because I lived and worked in New Jersey, and knew what a buffoon he was long before most people. He was a buffoon 40 years ago and I saw it then.
Then came his candidacy and with it the slur he committed against John McCain’s military service. I despise his supporters as much as I do him because of what he said.
It wasn't until this repost from your talk with Katie Couric, and my second time hearing your remarks that I thought to revisit the May 8th 2022 essay of The Warning..Which I believe was it's inaugural..Hard lessons were learned by many I suspect, during the unfolding of what is told in that piece..
