Voting for America
There are two weeks left in a campaign that feels completely and utterly exhausted. There is nothing left to say or see, and no revelations to be discovered about either candidate.
The main difference between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump is that she is a normal, healthy, coherent, intelligent, sane person, and he is not.
Yet, according to the polls and multitudes of experts, the election ahead remains dead even. The American people are deadlocked on whether to make some pretty big changes to the American way of life. Here are three big changes that MAGA will bring to America, which I am completely against:
1. The First Amendment to the US Constitution reads:
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
Donald Trump and his extremist whack pack do not believe in this cornerstone of American life. Watch the crowd at Trump’s rally cheer as he calls for the revocation of CBS News’ broadcast license (twice):
When Americans peacefully protested in front of the White House following the murder of George Floyd, Donald Trump asked if the military could shoot them in the legs.
Donald Trump has expressed specific hostility towards every provision of the Bill of Rights, which speaks to individual liberty from speech to jury trials. His hostility to the ideals and bedrock principles of American civilization are clear, present and stunning. He is as un-American as it gets, and I choose my country over Trump just like I chose my country over my party six years ago. The freedoms of speech, religion, assembly, conscience and the pursuit of happiness are our birthright and trust. I reject completely the proposals Trump has made calling for the imprisonment of his opponents, retribution against his critics and penalties against anyone or anything that opposes him. All of these things are deeply un-American.
2. I am completely opposed to Donald Trump’s plans to construct concentration/deportation camps that will house more than 10 million people. This immoral idea will turn the United States into a police state, and create a crisis of fear from coast to coast for every citizen. This Trump scheme involves deploying the United States Armed Forces against the American people for the sake of their “security.”
3. I disdain the extremism and religious fanaticism of the MAGA movement. Ken Paxton, the MAGA attorney general of Texas is using the power of the state to sue women in order to access their private medical records to monitor their reproductive health. It is outrageous and deeply frightening. These people are part of the Trump coalition. He has given them absolute license to do as they please — so long as they place him alongside Jesus as a divine figure. Here is a Trump crowd chanting “Jesus” at Trump:
He seems to like it very much: “Thank you very much.”
Because I am against these things I will vote for Kamala Harris and against Trump.
Some things are worth preserving. America is one of them.

I am literally paralyzed with fear and anxiety. I cannot believe that 50% of my fellow citizens support this crazy man. I just want to,pull the covers over my head.
Hello Steve, my question to you is off-topic from this post. I saw some real chemistry between Kamala and Liz Cheney while watching them together at the Q&A. My question is, that once Harris wins if you think she will select Liz for her cabinet and what department would it be? I think Liz would be a good choice to run Homeland Security, and what a message it would send to the repubs! Thoughts?
