Adolf Hitler was 34 years old when he attempted to overthrow Germany’s fledgling democracy on November 9, 1923, alongside 2,000 Nazis in Munich. Sixteen people were killed in the “Beer Hall Putsch,” and Hitler was sentenced to five years in prison. He served nine months, and occupied his days dictating his memoirs to Rudolf Hess. The book was titled “My Struggle”(Mein Kampf). When he was released from Landsberg prison, The New York Times wrote a short paragraph declaring Hitler had been “tamed from prison,” and turned away from radical politics.
During his time in prison, Hitler committed himself to destroying German democracy at the ballot box, and laid out a monstrous vision within his book. It was built around scientific race theory that held Aryans were a master race facing a threat of extinction from poisoned blood. Purity of the German blood line was core to Nazi ideology, law, propaganda and war aims. The Nuremberg Laws were a legal manifestation of the poisonous rhetoric and led in a straight line to a 90-minute meeting, which would take place in Wannsee, a tony Berlin suburb, on January 20, 1942.
The timeline is important. Hitler’s coup occurred nine years before he took power, and 10 years before he became dictator with the passage of two pieces of legislation called the Enabling Act and the Reichstag Fire Decree.
Six years separated Hitler’s rise to Führer and the start of World War II.
Nine years separated his rise and the Wannsee meeting, where the murder of Europe’s Jews as part of a final solution to the “Jewish problem” was planned. From there, it took about two years for the Nazis to carry it all out. Auschwitz was liberated by Soviet troops on January 27, 1945. Hitler would be dead by April 30, and across the world, more than 100 million were dead from the war that he began. Between the coup and the near destruction of European civilization 22 years passed. These events occurred more than 80 years ago, and tragically, they seem to have been forgotten by many of the people who can’t quite remember how it all happened and what the meaning of “Never Again” actually was.
Donald Trump has dominated American politics for 10 long years and today, 28 days before the 2024 presidential election, Donald Trump is using Hitler rhetoric to inflame an electorate with fear and lies precisely in the manner in which Adolf Hitler did. The overwhelming majority of America’s media can’t orient to what it is that they are seeing.
What we are all seeing is a manifestation of a great evil called fascism, which is the appropriate and proper name for the movement that Trump has been leading for a long time now.
There should be no confusion about something. What do you call someone who believes they are part of a superior race on the basis of their pure, superior blood line that is threatened by blood poisoning from lesser humans?
There was a time in America where the overwhelming majority of our people would have known that person was a Nazi.
Just because Scott Jennings at CNN combines ignorance, malice and stupidity into a pay check for misleading you about what is clearly so doesn’t make it less so.
Scott Jennings defended words from Trump’s mouth that were almost identical to the ones once spoken by Hitler, Goering, Goebbels, Himmler and a thousand other Nazi criminals.
The moment is a personal disgrace for him, but more importantly, a continued abuse of the CNN viewer, who is constantly being manipulated by Trump shills who defend Nazi language by pretending the red chair is blue.
Watching this panel is deeply depressing because Trump’s words don’t need interpretation or translation. They need explanation and explication:
Trump is a profound threat, and I hope these pieces help you better understand why:
'Bad genes,' 'contaminating the blood,' 'If I lose it will be because of the Jews,' 'They control the weather.' Think a bull's eye is being put on the back of every Jew in this country? I've seen this movie before and my grandparents barely survived it. This is personal. And the media is allowing it to happen. Again.
I can tell you what is going on in North Carolina, fueled by MAGA:
Top officials in North Carolina and at the Federal Emergency Management Agency responding to Helene are being subjected to a flurry of antisemitic attacks, causing some of them to fear for their safety as they prepare for another hurricane to strike Florida.
The attacks, which include wild claims that Jewish officials are conspiring to orchestrate the disasters, sabotage the recovery or even seize victims’ property, are being fomented largely on Elon Musk’s X.
