Appalling, disrespectful behavior. Most people bow their heads or put hand over the heart at national anthem at the Ballpark. They cannot do it in front of flag draped caskets.

Should be removing hat

MM Harris's avatar

Should NOT have started this war.

I wonder what the veterans who voted for frump are thinking about him, when he does stupid and disrespectful behavior like he did yesterday. Even kids know to take off their hats, out of respect!

A Sunday story for you Steve:

Back in the innocent days when ice cream sundaes tasted far better and cost far less, a haggard little boy entered a cafe, and, spotting a seat at the counter, made his way through the bustling crowd. A tied-up and tired waitress put a glass of water in front of him and asked what he'd like.

‘How much is an ice cream sundae?', he inquired with excited eyes.

50 cents, replied the waitress.

The boy pulled a handful of change out of his pocket and studied his small collection of coins.

‘How much is a dish of plain ice cream?', he asked, this time a bit sheepishly.

Noticing that her other tipping customers were now waiting to be served the waitress grew impatient.

35 cents, she said in an abrupt, lightly exasperated tone.

The boy again counted his coins, then said, ‘I'll have the plain ice cream please.' The waitress brought the ice cream, slid his bill on the counter, and rushed off to serve the ones who paid her bills.

The boy, grateful for his treat, finished his ice cream, paid the cashier, and departed penniless.

When the waitress came back, she started wiping down the counter, and then began to cry at what she saw.

There, placed neatly beside the empty dish, was 15 cents – the missing link between a sundae and plain ice cream – her tip.

That busy day that poor boy imbued in her a reverberating unannounced lesson both in kindness and humility which she shared everyplace she went until she breathed her last.

We know for sure who that little boy was not 🙏🏻

Who was he not?

TRUMP he was not!

He wants a long term war so he can cancel elections and keep his butt out of jail

He is setting up for a terror attack here is the U.S. All the signs are there- do not be surprised when it happens- and do not let him then seize even more power and stop the elections!

These excerpts from a “Daily Beast” article show how totally devoid of feelings and lacking in common sense the SOB in the oval office really is. He initiated a war with no discernible way out, in part to divert attention from his participation in the Epstein scandal and to satisfy his evangelical supporters by paving the way to what they believe will be Armageddon, and now disrespects the first American victims of his thoughtless and selfish action:

President Donald Trump made a bold accessory choice while attending the dignified transfer of six U.S. service members killed in his war with Iran.

Trump, 79, stood as six coffins covered in American flags were solemnly carried from an aircraft to a waiting vehicle at Delaware’s Dover Air Force Base on Saturday afternoon. On Trump’s head sat a gold-embroidered white hat with the letters “USA” on the front, “45-47″ on one side, and the American flag on the other.

The $55 cap is available to purchase on the president’s merch website.

“This fool has ABSOLUTELY no sense of dignity or appreciation for the moment,” wrote former Republican National Committee chairman Michael Steele on X. “It is called the Dignified Transfer for a reason. Take your damn hat off!!”

Political strategist Chris D. Jackson wrote, “Trump just wore a campaign hat to a dignified transfer for fallen U.S. soldiers that were killed during his Iranian blunder.”

Following the death of the six service members on March 1, Trump said, “Sadly, there will likely be more before it ends. That’s the way it is.”

"Take your damn hat off!!”

No eff'n way... If he did, that bird's nest hair doo of his would fly all over the place. Might show off all the combed over bald spots and nobody wants that.

MM Harris's avatar

The bald spots he THINKS we can't all see......

MM Harris's avatar

"That's the way it is." Spoken like a true sociopath.

Donna K. White's avatar

By now, we should not be surprised at what frump says and does; but because we were brought up to love and respect people, the fallen, and our country, we are still shocked and angered by his horrible behavior. It will be really dangerous when we are no longer shocked and angered!

MM Harris's avatar

Our entire country has been at potential risk for some time. Currently, it is at HIGH risk, and I'm not talking at all about the economic situation which is bad enough. Presidents are supposed to ensure the Constitution is upheld AND THE AMERICAN PEOPLE ARE KEPT SAFE. . . What is wrong with this picture? Better yet, what is wrong with those in the US Senate and House that they won't ALL demand to limit or even remove presidential power over the war immediately? At the very least. OR even initiate impeachment activities?? What is wrong with all the cabinet secretaries who can't see (at the very least) the diminished mental capacity in someone who is making all the wrong decisions to the point that Amendment 25 is required?? Iran WILL eventually make itself known right here inside the US. No one will see it coming. And all the federal and other organizations, along with long-term investigators specializing in Middle Eastern terrorism activities have been closed or gutted. Many Americans seem thrilled at the thought that we may be on the verge of experiencing "the end of times". Everyone is welcome to their beliefs. . . . but I'm not sure the MAJORITY of Americans feel the same way and instead want this all to stop, and immediately. It COULD be done.......

Anthony j. Santo's avatar

The Republicans won't vote to impeach in the House or convict in the Senate because they will be primaried by a candidate chosen by the "Dear Leader" whom cultists believe God chose to rule and therefore will do whatever they are told to do by the annointed one. The cabinet members were appointed by Trump and confirmed with mostly Republican votes; they are as narcissistic, corrupt, and incompetent, and in many cases as crazy, as the man who appointed them.

We are in deep, deep shit.

MM Harris's avatar

Totally agree. However, you'd think by now, CONGRESS GOPers would have grown more spines. Several have. Why not the others, who've been around. IDK why they can't see the need to put country over their own jobs; they're willing enough to watch all of US lose ours then find other work. IDK why they're still scared about being "primaried". . . More often than not, when Dr Leader promotes a candidate, that person LOSES. The smart ones would see that Democrats are doing EXTREMELY well in elections against GOP, up and down the tickets. One reason is that voters are jumping ship from the Republican party, many former MAGA. You'd think a smart incumbent would admit it's been a mistake to continue supporting the current president since he has broken every single campaign promise, causing horrendous financial problems for many constituents, and he/she will now do what's needed FOR THE CONSTITUENTS, EVEN IF IT MEANS CHANGING REGISTRATION FROM REPBULICAN TO DEMOCRAT and supporting big issues only in ways that help the American people. (But far too many are not very creative or brave...... and they will FAFO...)

Donna K. White's avatar

Those that have "grown a spine", really didn't- they are leaving Congress, and so, they feel free to speak their minds! That is not courage, that is cowardliness! Frump gained power because of cowards in Congress, who would rather see America's democracy fall, rather than see their own power crumble!

MM Harris's avatar

You're right!

Anthony j. Santo's avatar

We may be underestimating the stupidity of MAGA representatives and senators as a factor in their blind allegiance to a reprehensible and foolish man like Trump.

Donna K. White's avatar

You said it, Anthony!

Donna K. White's avatar

Agreed! Personally, I feel that impeachment is a waste go time and taxpayers' dollars. We have spent too much of our money on this clown! frump was impeached twice, and he feels that he is more powerful than ever; and unfortunately, because of the spineless GOP/MAGA, he is! He needs to be tried for treason, found guilty, and well... we know what happens to people who commit treason!

Marjo Tesselaar's avatar

We focus too much on demented Donny, we have to start blaming the entire GOP who are cheering him on, allowing him to use OUR tax money to do whatever he wants (2 billion a day for the Iran war alone)

There has been ZERO pushback from the republicans and besides a handful of progressive we have mostly democratic cowards.

We have no government to speak of, the billionaires and Netanyahu (AIPAC)control everything.

Trump will never give in, I am worried he will start using nuclear weapons. 10 years ago he wanted to nuke Iran and North Korea, the generals stopped him, now nobody can stop him.

The war is already spiraling out of control, the economy around the world is in trouble and it is only the beginning.

Robyn Boyer's avatar

He won't nuke Iran simply because the blast and radiation would extend to the Gulf states where all his and his family's money is. Par for the course of a malignant narcissist.

Marjo Tesselaar's avatar

I hope you are right but he is impulsive and makes decisions on the fly

elliottobermanprofile's avatar

He's on top of the world! What this guy' Trump, doesn't care, he is doing what he loves making a least a $Billion, why would he be a noble person, hell he's making what he needs and fuck everyone, his dreams have come true. Everyone around him is rich off the people's backs.

Kay Forbes-Smith's avatar

God bless your talent of writing exactly where things stand. I, of course blame Trumpf, but even more so the Republican cowards who will not stand up to him. Years ago, I warned anybody who would listen about Steve Miller being the puppeteer behind this creature, but everyone said “who?” We are now in a war that keeps expanding and killing innocents…I cannot conceive of what comes next.

Says a lot for JD Vance? He should know the military expectations and procedures?

Is Vance fearful of opening his mouth, too?

Do not think Trump likes Vance very much? Trump is wildly challenged by JD and does not like the attention he receives over himself! Trump is not a person who likes little children, either. Very often the Vance’s travel with their kids. Remember Musk and his unruly son in the Oval Office before Musk left DC? Trump’s face was not happy!

Tracy's avatar

Trump has openly said that those in the military are “idiots” and “suckers“! He has absolutely no respect for anyone except for himself and maybe his little pal in Russia.

Christa's avatar

Here is another unmistakable reality. Republicans own all of this shit.

They elected him, knowing he is a violent narcissist because they didn’t care what happened to anyone else, as long as it didn’t happen to them. They stacked SCOTUS with judges who would remove checks on his power because personal power was more important to them than the country. They refused to impeach him. Refused to check his power to wage war. Aided and abetted the dismantling of everything useful in our government, including the ability to defend ourselves from terrorist attacks. When this is over and we are left to rebuild from the wreckage, people must not forget how it happened. Trump and his cabinet should spend the remainder of their lives in prison.
