The way I've been thinking about what is on the line, and what Dems need to demand:

What is happening that has never happened before in America?

It's the militarization of American cities, and the disregard for the Constitution.

That's where the real crisis is.

Steve is right--we cannot make this about health care. And we certainly cannot make it about the Epstein files. No more right v. left. The right as guardian fiscal responsibility, and defense of democracy abroad?

Totalitarianism is not a form of conservatism.

True conservatism is long dead and buried.

Those that say they are conservatives are laughable. I’m not sure if they’re are so daft they don’t see their contradictions. Or they just don’t effing care.

For example:

They ( GOP ) say, Less govt. Let people decide things for themselves.

Yet they restrict access to abortion, COVID and other vaccines. Isn’t that taking away people’s right to make their own decisions and having the govt make them for you?

They tout ( GOP ) Christian values and the teachings of Jesus.

Then they zip tie children deny them comfort ( blankets, water ) and separate them from their families. They treat the poor and downtrodden like criminals. Are these Christian values? Is this what Jesus taught and how he acted?

They ( GOP ) say they are 100% free speech advocates. Yet they approve / allow giant mergers of media corporations and sue if what they broadcast isn’t to their ( party line ) thinking. Shouldn’t we have a lot of media entities so no one corporation or business has a stranglehold ( monopoly )on the broadcasting of information? Isn’t that more speech? Isn’t that a good thing?

They ( GOP ) say they are about freedom and democracy.

Yet any opposition to their way is met with responses of communism, socialism, terrorism, ultra radical left, out of control drug gangs, crime in blue cities and states. How exactly is stifling peaceful dissent freedom and democracy?

Here is how low the bar is today and why conservatism is dead:

“ Only a fool would try to deprive working men and working women of their right to join the union of their choice. “

“ Should any political party attempt to abolish social security unemployment insurance and eliminate labor laws and farm programs you would not hear of that party again in our political history. There is a tiny splinter group of course that believes you can do these things. Among them are a few other Texas oil millionaires and an occasional politician or business man from other areas. Their number is negligible and they are stupid. “

THERE ARE NO GOOD REPUBLICANS

It is now clear that there are no good Republicons left….they are all traitors as is Der Fuhrer and his Nazi allies to the country in trying to destroy the government of the country and complicit in Cheeto’s corruption, unconstitutional orders, and creating an inflationary upward spiral

But they told us what they were going to do in the widely publicized Project 2025 agenda The voting electorate knew what what they were up to and opposed overwhelmingly what the Project stood for(96% of polled population were against the Project) There are only 2 conclusions The voting electorate didn’t care despite the polling OR Cheeto and his Nazi allies rigged the 2024 election in various nefarious ways eg Greg Palast’s investigative reporting(bit.ly/41UelTx) on vigilante challenges by 40,000 Nazi vigilantes

So tell it like it is to your friends, neighbors, relatives, family DO NOT VOTE FOR ANY REPUBLICON IN THE 2026 MIDTERMS

Hope we will continue to hear your conversation even when times are better. It is just reassuring to know that there is still humanity left.

Excellent Steve, dead right. I have thought for months that the Democrats need to push forward their “bench” not the staid and titular leadership but the wranglers who understand we are on the knife edge of losing our democracy. And your thoughts on the mega-States and their local political leadership are exactly what has to be done. At the same time I also had a thought about a State to State Compact, to cover mutual financial, legal, and law enforcement cooperation at the least. Please continue to call it as you see it, great job!

No one should go to any protests. Let them just stand around. It’s all about Epstein but how do we stop the Gestapo on steroids

Steve: I have found your commentary to be "over the top" as long as I have listened to you. AND... dead right every time. Maybe it's not you that's "over the top" .... it's our reality.

No he won’t! We can’t stand by and watch him take over town after town under the ‼️ that we are rioting and we are NOT. He MUST BE STOPPED AND REMOVED FROM OFFICE! There’s no two ways about it ‼️🤯

Do not forget Massachusetts in your list of critical blue states. The shot heard around the world and the American revolution is in the blood of Bostonians

Right on brother. I am a Bostonian. The British left Boston on March 17, 1776, following the nearly year-long siege by American forces during the early American Revolutionary War. This withdrawal is commemorated in Massachusetts as "Evacuation Day," representing a significant American victory. We were such a pain in their ass, they just vanished.

Steve, thank you for the Thomas Paine quote, as I have been asking, "why me" in this day, and I felt strength from your sharing that quote, and a smile.

I am hearing from people who are now lamenting their vote (I have to literally bite my tongue , and not rip them a new one). They now admit he is an asshole. Everyday, this asshole displays these Malignant Narcissistic Traits (he may be or not be, but certainly the evidence is monstrous at this point that he has a high correlation with the symptoms). Anyone recognize these (cough)? :

Perpetual liar. Can't open his fucking mouth without lying. I make it a point not to listen to him, ever.

Grandiosity and Entitlement: An exaggerated sense of self-importance, uniqueness, and superiority, coupled with a belief that they deserve special treatment.

Lack of Empathy: A severe inability to understand or share the feelings of others, leading to indifference to their needs and suffering.

Admiration-Seeking: A constant craving for admiration, attention, and validation to support their inflated sense of self.

Fantasies of Success: Preoccupation with fantasies of power, brilliance, success, and beauty.

Antisocial and Malignant Traits:

Cruelty and Meanness: Seeks revenge over other priorities. A deliberate display of malice, menace, and cruelty that is not typically seen in other narcissistic individuals.

Manipulation and Exploitation: A strong drive to manipulate and exploit others to achieve their goals and serve their own interests.

Aggression: A tendency to lash out physically or psychologically when challenged or threatened, which can include verbal abuse, intimidation, or physical violence.

Lack of Remorse: A total absence of guilt or regret for harming others, even when their actions have significant negative consequences.

Paranoia and Suspicion: A pervasive belief that others are out to get them, leading to unfounded accusations and an inability to trust even close individuals.

Deceitfulness: A tendency to lie frequently to protect their ego, manipulate others, and further their own agendas.

Sadism: A psychological tendency to find pleasure or satisfaction in the suffering, pain, or anguish of others.

Textbook. He is the Godzilla creature that has waded on to our shores, a product of the country destroying Citizens United ruling. This all boils down to two members of SCOTUS now. Are they going to get a grip, or not? We will know soon enough. One has to wonder about the intense pressure they must be getting from the corporate robots. The other four are clearly already compromised.

Accusations that Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch is compromised by corporate interests stem from his personal finances and judicial decisions, specifically his long-standing ties to billionaire Philip Anschutz and rulings that critics say favor business. Gorsuch and his supporters counter that his decisions are based on legal principles like textualism and originalism, which sometimes align with corporate interests and sometimes do not.

Ties to billionaire Philip Anschutz

Conflicts of interest: In October 2024, watchdog groups and Democratic lawmakers urged Gorsuch to recuse himself from Seven County Infrastructure Coalition v. Eagle County, Colo. due to his ties to oil tycoon Philip Anschutz. Anschutz's company, a major producer in the region affected by the case, stood to benefit financially from a favorable ruling.

Property and connections: During his 2017 confirmation, Gorsuch's connections to Anschutz drew scrutiny. Gorsuch co-owned property with top Anschutz associates for over a decade. He also represented Anschutz's corporate interests at a previous law firm and has spoken at events held on Anschutz's ranch.

Recusal and non-recusal: While Gorsuch had previously recused himself from cases involving Anschutz while on the appeals court, he initially did not recuse himself from the 2024 case, Seven County Infrastructure Coalition v. Eagle County, Colo.. He later recused himself in December 2024 amid public pressure.

Loper Bright Enterprises v. Raimondo: Gorsuch faced similar criticism for not recusing himself from the 2024 case that overturned the Chevron doctrine, a long-standing legal principle. Watchdog groups noted that multiple legal organizations funded by Anschutz filed briefs in the case advocating for the change.

Real estate transaction

In 2023, it was reported that Gorsuch sold a Colorado property in 2017 to the CEO of a large law firm, Greenberg Traurig.

Undisclosed buyer: Gorsuch sold the property shortly after his Supreme Court confirmation but did not disclose the identity of the buyer on his financial forms.

Business before the court: Since the sale, Greenberg Traurig has been involved in dozens of Supreme Court cases. In some of those cases where Gorsuch's opinion was recorded, he has sided with the firm's client.

Claim of no contact: The buyer, Brian Duffy, stated that he had never met Gorsuch and was unaware of Gorsuch's stake in the property.

Hi Steve, I was on Ryan's link when I saw it.

Profound, scary, insights tragically highly likely to happen given the cruel, unhinged, corrupt regime attempting to grind us into either submission or ennui.

I say never.
