TONIGHT: What's next? Discuss the election aftermath with Mehdi Hasan and me
Join us for a live video at 7pm ET tonight + an intimate "Ask Me Anything" exclusively for founding members from 8 - 9 pm ET
Prior to the election,
, founder of Zeteo, and I participated in Substack’s Election Dialogues series, and warned about what was to to come if Donald Trump was re-elected. Well, here we are. Donald Trump will be the 47th president of the United States of America. What does this all mean? The struggle ahead is going to be ugly and hard, but the fight will be worth it.
Join Mehdi and I live in the Substack app TONIGHT at 7pm ET to kickoff what will be a long four years of resistance.
Hope you can make it!
To join the conversation, you’ll need to download the Substack app. Go ahead and do that now. This event is open for ALL subscribers. Resistance will take all of us. Join me tonight in the iPhone or Android app.
How can you tune in? Click here to download the Substack app. If you enable notifications, the app will notify you when I’m live. Just tap that, and you’re in!
See you in the app,
Steve
If you are having any issues downloading the Substack app, follow the steps below:
Go to the Apple or Android app store on your mobile device and search for Substack. Alternatively, you can click this link on your mobile device to get there.
Download the Substack app.
Sign in with the email address that you use for Substack—the one my newsletters are sent to you at.
To finish logging in, Substack will send a verification email to your mobile device. All you have to do is open your email app on your phone, locate the email from Substack with the subject line “Finish signing in to Substack,” and you’re almost there. Tap the orange button in that email to finish logging into the app.
If you’re new to the app, you’ll go through Substack’s regular onboarding process. This takes a few minutes but is simple to complete. You’ll probably want to get this up and running this morning if you don’t have the app already, or do it at least 15 minutes before we go live.
Once you’ve successfully logged in, you’ll land on the app’s home screen. When I am live, the first “post” at the top of your app will be my live video. All you need to do is click on this to join the livestream. Below is an example of what the app looked like when Chris Best, Substack’s CEO, did a live video.
Note: If you don’t see me in your app, I probably haven’t gone live yet. Just wait a few minutes and I will show up. If for some reason I am not showing up in your app, use the search icon to search for Steve Schmidt. You can join the live video from there too.

I am now offering founding members exclusive access to some additional benefits:
A once monthly, one-hour “Ask Me Anything” Zoom session:
I am kicking off this intimate initiative TONIGHT from 8 - 9 pm ET, following my conversation with Mehdi. You’ll have the opportunity to ask me questions directly, not through the chat function.
The opportunity to watch podcast recordings and ask my guests and me questions
For those podcast guests who are willing to participate, you’ll have the chance to watch podcast recordings. We’ll leave 10 minutes at the end of each recording for your questions to be answered. Dates and Zoom links will be provided as they are booked.
The cost for a founding membership subscription is $300/year.
If you’d like to attend tonight’s session — and take advantage of these new exclusive benefits — click here to upgrade your subscription:
For those who are or become founding members, a link to register for tonight’s event will be shared with you at 6 pm TODAY.
I am truly grateful for your contribution in making The Warning what it is today, and what I hope for it to become now that Donald Trump is president elect.
Steve
I also did a lot of networking and speaking to people to help ensure the victory of Josh Stein, a good man, as Governor of North Carolina and to ensure the defeat of Mark Robinson and Michele Morrow. Both were defeated and can crawl back under the rock from whence they came. Amen.
I’ve taken a few steps toward acceptance. First, he won and the election deniers went quiet. We’ve been spared the violence and mayhem that would have been stoked if he lost. Secondly, I see no point feeling physically, emotionally or mentally defeated. It does not change anything and only makes me feel worse. I’ll process what happened and now that the electorate has spoken, they own the outcome now and in the years ahead.
I don’t have any willingness to consider historical notions or traditions. I feel the slate is wiped clean. I’ll live my life as I always have and vote as I always have, but America is only as great as its people. I don’t find them or the country great.
