An ethos of dehumanization unites the Brutal & Bellicose Bill, the ICE assaults, and the allied attacks on birthright citizenship. The Trump administration and the GOP are targeting people for detention, violence, and expulsion on the basis of their faith, skin color, and provenance, regardless of their legal or citizenship status.
The murder bill is the nail in the coffin. With ICE now more powerful than any other law enforcement body in the U.S., we are all subject to whatever the orange thing tells them to do. They’re going to be able to go after anyone and never need to be constrained by law or human decency. We now live in a country that operates like 1930s Germany and protests are not going to stop it.
