Thank you for your courage, empathy , kindness, love of country, dedication to sharing the truth. We have faced this moment during the .war for American Independence and again during the Civil War, and now here we are again. Do we p, as a country, believe in equality for all, or do we believe in a superior caste?
I count on you and many others on substack to provide moral guidance, but above all community, Robert Reich gave an excellent post today regarding the contagious nature of courage, We must never forget our lessons from the past
The story of the 1/6 insurrectionists and criminals has come full circle. At first, even men like Lindsey Graham described them as criminals; men and women who assaulted and vandalized the Capitol at Trump's instigation. Time passed and the story began to change. Republicans came to view the criminals as heroes and patriots who were trying to help Trump secure the presidency; he told them the big lie; that he had won in 2020, not Biden. They believed him. In spite of his failure to provide any proof, in spite of dozens of court cases he lost, in spite of Trump's AG William Barr and Cybersecurity Chief Chris Krebbs telling them he lost; they believed Trump.
Now, they are calling on the pardoned criminals to run for public office, Truly unbelievable:
"Ryan Kelley thought he had a good shot at becoming Michigan’s governor in 2022. Three years later, Kelley says, people ask him all the time to run for governor again. In today’s America, where Trump returned to the White House and within hours pardoned some 1,500 Jan. 6 rioters, Kelley’s two-month prison sentence for his actions that winter day in 2021 isn’t the obstacle to public life that it might once have been.
It may even be a ticket to political prominence. Far from being sidelined, those who rioted, assaulted police officers or broke into congressional offices during the violent attack are now being spotlighted as honored guest speakers at local Republican events around the country. They are getting a platform to tell their version of events and being hailed as heroes and martyrs. Some are considering runs for office." https://floridapolitics.com/archives/733282-pardoned-j6-participants-including-a-florida-proud-boy-leader-eye-running-for-office/
Happy Easter to all, may you have faith in the "American Dream", I do, I know it's difficult, right now! Bless America.

Tyranny cannot be appeased. It never works.
Tyranny only wins when we submit.
Solidarity is how we win.
