Ambassador Haley’s slap down of the unctuous, ignorant and paper-thin Ramaswamy was well earned, overdue and deserved.
His obnoxiousness seems surreal. Preposterous and affected by design, he is a character escaped from HBO’s “West World,” and loosed upon the world without any bearings, but for his program to trigger gun fights in the saloon. He is a specimen of pure know-it-all-ism, who astonishes in an age in which stupidity, unseriousness and arrogance never stop rising, while dignity never stops falling.
American consumerism has many markers, but chief among them is the dogma that wealth is a qualification and a mark of genius. Vivek Ramaswamy is a wealthy young man, who figured out a “pump and dump” stock scheme, while others of his generation were serving in Iraq, building schools in Africa, inventing artificial intelligence, becoming brain surgeons and master carpenters and electricians. Good for him. He’s rich.
Vivek Ramaswamy speaks with certitude, despite being uncertain about the things that demand certainty. He doesn’t understand what he is talking about because he doesn’t understand anything. He hasn’t seen or experienced anything hard. He hasn’t had a tough 10 minutes, and clearly hasn’t spent more than a few minutes — at most — thinking about the world beyond the primacy of Vivek Ramaswamy’s place in it, and the opportunities at hand for the empty ambitions of a plastic man, hollowed out from the start.
Vivek Ramaswamy called the Jewish president of Ukraine a Nazi. He embraced Vladimir Putin’s war strategy in a staggering and mind-bending spasm of useful idiocy during the Republican debate. His ignorance and arrogance blind Ramaswamy to the past, the present and a catastrophic future that is avoidable — unless fools like Vivek Ramaswamy find their way into positions of power.
Eighty-five years ago, the western powers, which included England and France, allowed Adolf Hitler to carve up a European country in the middle of the continent. Czechoslovakia was dismembered and destroyed by German malice and western delusion. Neville Chamberlin promised peace in his time, in part, because he couldn’t imagine something worse than the First World War. His naïveté was summed up by Winston Churchill, who said the following just after the Munich Agreement, in response to Chamberlain’s assertion that the agreement had achieved “peace with honour. I believe it is peace for our time:”
You were given the choice between war and dishonour. You chose dishonour and you will have war.
And do not suppose that this is the end. This is only the beginning of the reckoning. This is only the first sip, the first foretaste of a bitter cup which will be proffered to us year by year unless by a supreme recovery of moral health and martial vigour, we arise again and take our stand for freedom as in the olden time.
Below is the story of what happened in Lidice, Czechoslovakia. It is a story that should be known wherever people value freedom and liberty. It is a story of atrocity, evil, murder and love. It is the story of Ukraine today.
The Russians will either be defeated in Ukraine, or they will destroy Ukraine and advance into Europe. When they do, Americans will fight and die.
Ramaswamy’s ignorance of history and arrogance about his capabilities is reminiscent of another know-it-all who traversed the world sewing chaos without restraint for four years. His name is Jared Kushner.
Arrogant like Ramaswamy, Kushner took $2 billion in Saudi money after his White House service, where he brown-nosed Bibi Netanyahu and every other corrupt foreign official he could meet, which was all of them. Look at the results of Jared Kushner’s peace efforts. Look at the chaos. It couldn’t have gone worse than if Vivek Ramaswamy married Ivanka. Either way, they are equally inept and unworthy. Keep them away from power. Forever.
In the meantime here is the story of Lidice:
“Arrogant like Ramaswamy, Kushner took $2 billion in Saudi money after his White House service, where he brown-nosed Bibi Netanyahu and every other corrupt foreign official he could meet, which was all of them.”
---Steve Schmidt
First off, great and relevant story about Lidice and the consequences of a Ukrainian capitulation and the blowback that will ensue.
That said, agreed, Vivek is a caricature of a more perverse and clueless version of Apu, who runs the Kwik-E-Mart on the Simpsons. Not to be outdone by Mike Johnson (speaker), who makes of Ned Flanders seem like an atheist in comparison.
As for Kushner? Why is it everyone brings up the $2 billion in Saudi money when Kushner left the Trump administration, but no one seems to remember the $1 billion bailout by Qatar for his 666 Fifth Ave monstrosity, that was about to go into default a month months after Kushner was named Senior advisor for all Middle East policy? Hello? It’s clearly a conflict of interest at best, and extremely illegal at worst!
Furthermore, the corruption of Trump, his sycophants and family, pales in comparison to the threat to democracy and authoritarian rule that Trump poses.
And it’s not just Trump; the Republican house members, and even some Republican senators are the most obtuse, ignorant and inept people one can ever imagine, when it comes to foreign policy initiatives.
What is happening to this nation? I realize Trump is an alchemist in reverse! Only he can turn gold into lead, which explains a lot, since he and his merry band of clueless fascists definitely suffer from severe lead poisoning; which is known to cause brain damage!
Just some thoughts!..:)
History is sure to be repeated with people like Ramaswamy at the helm. People with no understanding of history, cultures or human behavior. He is so full of himself, so full of hot air, but to a naive listener he could sound self-assured and knowledgeable. My words could apply to Trump and other R's also, right? They've unleashed a vicious hatred that is spreading at warp speed.
