Oil prices will not drop before November, nor food nor other commodities. The tariffs will still hover, raising prices. But, Democrats are legion for demanding "purist, litmus tests" of their candidates. The losers? Us!

Gerri, I want to expand on the excellent point you made. The strongest and most outspoken resistance to Trump comes from the progressive wing of the Democratic party. By voting for progressives in the primaries we help achieve a real chance to dump the MAGA regime and create a caring, honest, and dignified society, economy, and foreign policy.
Anthony: We need to also be vigilant about what each candidate identifies themselves as being, progressive, centrist or other and from where their support actually originates. There are MAGA and AIPAC support groups putting out masquerade candidates in some primary campaigns to dilute the votes of legitimate candidates compared to those they would prefer MAGA candidates to face in a general election.

I think between a bold progressive willing to push establishment Dems, i.e., stock trading, enlargement of SCOTUS, take down of Trump gold and name abominations, etc., etc. and one who is more moderate, I would go for the progressive candidate. We have a unique opening in red to purple districts -- Americans are hurting badly -- they don't need convincing that government is hurting them -- they know it now -- so why not go big and why not ask our candidates how they will do that -- it will be different sure in each state; but, Bold is can be. Progressives, including everyday people like us as well as leaders in the movement, must get the message across to Americans who are confused or unwilling to pay enough attention to understand our political and economic situation. The problems caused by Trump and his Magat supporters in Congress are making life more difficult, even precarious, for many Americans previously unwilling to expend the energy and time necessary to understand how this administration has made their lives far more difficult. This presents an opportunity for progressives to explain how their agenda would help everyday Americans and end the stranglehold the oligarchs have on our government, economy, and society.
