The only war Trump HAS won

On Saturday night, a collection of corporate media executives and journalists, along with their guests, will be called to stand and raise their glasses of cheap champagne by CBS News senior White House correspondent and president of the White House Corespondents Association Weijia Jiang.
Together, they will toast the greatest enemy of the First Amendment in American history at an event, which purports to celebrate it.
It will be an appalling, if unsurprising, moment.
It will be shocking to witness because it is rare indeed to see a collective act that is so irredeemably seedy. The corruption, awful judgement, hollow ethics and moral cowardice of Donald Trump’s media partners will speak for itself. There will be nothing left to say by the time Weijia Jiang takes her seat.
Ron Fournier, the legendary former AP honcho and one of the best and most ethical political journalists of the last 40 years, put it this way:
Why celebrate journalism alongside a man whose concept of news travels the narrow range between “Trump is a great president” to “Trump is the greatest president ever"? Why celebrate journalism with a man who hates it?
Tough-as-nails Don Lemon put it this way:
I’m not interested in dressing up in a tuxedo, sipping champagne, and pretending everything is normal after Trump has spent time attacking, undermining and trying to discredit journalists and journalism.
Personally, and I mean this from the bottom of my heart with every fiber of my being, I would cut my hand off before I raised a glass to Donald Trump. Alas, that does not seem to be the prevailing view of the “journalists” of the White House Correspondents Association. They want to celebrate the man who has demeaned them, berated them, threatened them, attacked them, lied to them, and endangered their safety.
Collectively, they will toast the indecency, the corruption, the murder of American citizens, threats of genocide and cruelties unleashed by the MAGA fascists and dare to call their appeasement of Trump’s evil as necessary because of…journalism.
When Weijia Jiang raises her glass it will be a transformative moment for her as it will be for every journalist caught on camera saluting Trump.
Weijia Jiang will be standing behind the presidential seal, next to the adjudicated rapist, who is alleged to have assaulted at least 28 women, and is referenced in the child rape files of Jeffrey Epstein more than 38,000 times, when her toast begins.
Donald will be looking up at her from a seated position completely satisfied in the moment knowing that whatever else may be said about him he will at least have won one war.
In fact, the only unconditional victory Donald Trump will ever have is over the American media, which he broke, tamed and turned into his partners for his rancid reality show.
When the glasses are raised it will be less a toast than a confession to a lack of integrity, decency, judgement and courage.
There is no return from the toast.
None.
It is a before and after moment. It will be a defining moment for every recognizable face that chooses to jump the broom and marry into the cause of MAGA.
What a shameful night it will be.
What a clarifying night it will be.
The simple truth is that, by the time the lights come up on the event at the end of the night, there will be no journalists in the room. None.
Just cosplay actors — Kash Patels and Kristi Noems with notebooks.
Stephen Cloobeck, the billionaire benefactor of Eric Swalwell, who told him to “get the f*ck out of my house” when the story about him broke, had some great advice in the aftermath of the revelations:
Don’t bust the trust.
The trust has been more than busted between the American people and the American corporate media.
It’s never coming back.
Personally, I look forward to seeing Bari Weiss and Pete Hegseth sitting next to each other celebrating Trump.
It is said that a picture is worth a thousand words, and that one seems like it might be worth many, many more.

How dare the cowardly media members show up to honor the biggest threat to free speech this country has ever experienced? If they have any courage at all, boycott the fucking thing!
It will be full of so much ass-kissing it will be reminiscent of a disgusting orgy of mutants who need to have their lips surgically removed from the giant anus in the White House at the end of it all. I might have to watch today’s live on rewind. Sitting at the VA and forgot my headphones. 😞
