The most ominous utterance yet made by one of Trump’s henchman
Because I have appeared on television thousands of times I know what happened during this live interview between Boris Sanchez and Stephen MiKKKer:
MiKKKer was asking if the Trump regime would abide by a district judge’s order blocking the National Guard’s deployment in Oregon. Here’s what he said:
Well, the administration filed an appeal this morning with the Ninth Circuit. I would note the administration won an identical case in the Ninth Circuit just a few months ago with respect to the federalization of the California National Guard…
Under Title 10 of the U.S. Code, the president has plenary authority, has —
And then he stopped talking, with Sanchez calling out his name, to which he did not respond. The show went to commercial break, and neither Sanchez nor MiKKKer brought up “plenary authority” again.
When appearing on television the interviewee is wearing a battery pack, a receiver to hear, and a microphone to talk. The battery powers both, but the microphone and the receiver are not connected. This means it is possible for the audience to hear the guest, while it may be impossible for the guest to hear the anchor. Similarly, sometimes the guest can hear the question, but can’t be heard because the microphone glitches.
What happened during the MiKKKer interview had nothing to do with technology, and everything to do with saying the quiet part out loud.
Stephen MiKKKer stopped talking because his arrogance outran his mouth. He revealed what is coming next in America, and when he realized it, he immediately processed the situation, and instinctually understood that his safest position was simply not to speak another word. He knew that by falling silent, and pretending he could not hear, the interview would end — or in this case, resume without going back to the topic that was being discussed. As a result, there would be no further revelations.
The chilling phrase — the one that made him stop talking — sounds rather mundane. It doesn’t sound particularly alarming. It doesn’t come wrapped in the usual bubble wrap of sneering nonsense and belligerent MAGA bluster. However, it is the most ominous utterance yet made by one of Trump’s henchman:
Under Title 10 of the U.S. Code, the president has plenary authority, has —
Plenary authority.
Do you know what that phrase means?
Let me share three names of individuals who have claimed plenary authority: Adolf Hitler, Josef Stalin and Kim Jong Un.
What Stephen MiKKKer declared were the details of his plan to enforce this vision. He spoke to those intentions during his eulogy at the Charlie Kirk memorial:
We are the storm. And our enemies cannot comprehend our strength, our determination, our resolve, our passion. Our lineage and our legacy hails back to Athens, to Rome, to Philadelphia, to Monticello. Our ancestors built the cities. They produced the art and architecture. They built the industry…
…The light will defeat the dark. We will prevail over the forces of wickedness and evil. We will defeat the forces of darkness and evil. And we will stand every day for what is true, what is beautiful, what is good…
…And to those trying to incite violence against us, those trying to foment hatred against us, what do you have? You have nothing. You are nothing. You are wickedness. You are jealousy. You are envy. You are hatred. You are nothing. You can build nothing. You can produce nothing. You can create nothing…
..And what will you leave behind? Nothing. Nothing. To our enemies, you have nothing to give. You have nothing to offer. You have nothing to share but bitterness.
What Stephen MiKKKer has declared is that Donald Trump has the power to concoct an insurrection from his delusions, and declare war on the American people.
He has declared that the US military is the SS.
He has signaled that it will be ordered to attack peaceful protesters under pretenses that are wholly make-believe, to destroy the nation so that it can be “great again.”
We stand together at the edge of the abyss.
There are Texas troops that are coming to Illinois, not to serve, but to oppress.
Donald Trump is demanding the arrest of American governors, pointing weapons at the American people, and spiraling into deeper and deeper levels of corruption, insanity, incompetence and delusion.
The economy is seizing and chaos is growing, while Trump’s popularity is cratering. His answer to the unfolding events has been to consistently demand new powers to remedy the chaos that his policies have caused.
There has never been a fascist regime that has ever operated in any other matter.
The home of the free and the land of the brave has become the home of the obese and indifferent lemming. If there is bravery in America it has retreated into the mist.
There is one last place to look for it, and that is in the hearts of the ordinary American people who were born in freedom, but who must decide if they will live as serfs. Will they live as Trump’s subjects, controlled by the arbitrary whims and impulses of MAGA party bosses?
We are well on our way.
Mike Johnson is the speaker of the House, and he won’t answer a question about whether the president has the power to jail the governor of Illinois — on the basis of “because.” During a press conference on Wednesday, here is how he responded to a journalist’s question:
Should they be in prison? Uh, should the mayor of Chicago and the governor of Illinois be in prison? Um, I’m not the attorney general, I’m the speaker of the House, and I’m trying to manage the chaos here, I’m not following the day to day on that.
Mike Johnson doesn’t believe in the United States. He is a latter day Confederate trying to burn it down.
There have always been arsonists, and there have always been firemen in America. What has changed in recent years is that the arsonists have become firemen, and the firemen have become arsonists.
A burning season is upon us, and it will worsen mightily before it gets better.
Terrible days are coming to America that did not have to come, but the warnings were not heeded. Over and over again, when Trump could have been defeated and defenestrated, he was resuscitated by acts of selfishness and self-interest — big and small. A generation of Democratic politicians forgot the cause of politics is service to America. It is a cause that is so much bigger than any one person’s ambition, or even life.
Now, it is all falling apart. In order for the United States to be saved it must also be redeemed.
Stopping MAGA when they were storming the castle was one thing. Removing them from power will be quite another.
The greatest disconnect in the country right now is the chasm between the reality that the leaders who could not stop the former are now capable of achieving the latter. They cannot win back what they lost because they are the reason for the loss.
Yet, each day a new Pickett’s Charge unfolds.
What occurred yesterday in the Judiciary Committee hearings wasn’t just an obscenity, but also a type of photograph — an image frozen in time. It marks a moment when no serious person could conceivably argue that the government of the people, by the people, for the people, is functioning. It has all segmented into a deranged farce, and it deserves some deep contemplation.
A friend of mine asked me if I saw the Pam Bondi hearings, which I had.
She was aghast, but I told her that she had no cause to be surprised.
What did anyone think would happen when a Qatari foreign agent was made attorney general of the United States?
It didn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out that she was going to light the rule of law on fire. She has.
She has created the conditions necessary for MAGA to claim what the Nazis did. Everything that they did was legal, and everyone who opposed them was a “terrorist.”
Pam Bondi is a bad actress, not a prosecutor. She is a lightweight and an airhead. She is nasty, shrill, obnoxious and belligerent. She is microscopically small, corrupt, incompetent and petty. Her sick performance was her version of foreplay with Trump.
She is competing for attention at court, looking to move up a table or two on the Predator Patio.
Stephen MiKKKer is a Nazi. He is a real deal Little Eichmann, and he is blood thirsty.
Can you see that?
Can you see the hate in his eyes?
Can you hear it in his voice?
I can.
Here is my warning: Stephen MiKKKer wants to kill a great many Americans because he has decided that millions of us are “terrorists.”
Our crime?
We just can’t love Trump the way that Stephen and Katie MiKKKer can.
For the record, that doesn’t make you a “terrorist.”
It makes you a patriot and a good American.

Know that we are doing all in our power in our little Ozaukee County Democratic Party in Wisconsin to STOP this!
The United States is a breeding ground for the worst people on the planet. When the Heavenly Angel came down to rescue Dante from The Furies in Hell, he called them “Outcasts of Heaven, you twice-loathsome crew.”
He was referring to MAGA.
