Yesterday I wrote to my districts MAGA congresswoman to remind her of her complicity in this killing and to offer her a path towards redemption by supporting the impeachment of Trump. I don’t expect to have any impact, but at least I gave her staff some amusement.
Let’s not forget about Jack Smith’s deposition. The career prosecutor answering ridiculous Republican charges and asserting that he would have convicted Trump on the evidence that he has amassed. How about releasing all of that evidence?

Or will you make a stand to preserve liberty for your families and future generations? There is no more time to sit and hope the calvary is coming to your rescue. The calvary has been corrupted. The only hero that can save America is YOU.
As tempting as it is to take up arms and bravely battle this criminal regime in retaliation, that premature reaction is exactly what Trump and his cult are hoping for. At this point, reacting violently will provide the oppressors false justification to declare martial law and suspend future elections.
We may very well get to the point where armed resistance is our last possible defence, but first, before a civil war becomes unavoidable, citizens must unite in protest and hold a nationwide prolonged strike. There needs to be one unified non-negotiable demand. The current criminal regime must be removed from power. If successful, there will be numerous changes to the corrupt system that need to be implemented, but for starters, Trump and his cronies need to stopped cold.
Anyone paying attention to the daily mayhem and chaotic destruction of lives and liberties in America needs to stop fantasizing about a midterm election correction.
I wrote to my senators and house rep many months ago begging them to use every tool and action they could muster to at least slow Trump down. I warned them that it could not wait for mid-terms. They make speeches and nibble around the edges of issues. But they are shockingly impotent.
The other morning here in Minneapolis, a northern suburb actually, we had a coat of frozen rain on the ground. It was slippery to say the least. We couldn't back the ambulance into certain driveways due to the icey conditions. One we did back into, after putting the ambulance into park it slid a little. A little scary. This morning that's the I feel. A little scared. Mostly because I feel the feeling of indifference creeping up on me. I feel that way because I feel that things are nearly out of control. We can't do anything about it. Every time there is horrible situation the administration is doing something else behind the scenes. I'm scared.
Well, Tracy, they want to scare us, fight or flight are the options. I know that i feel much better when i do something, i do just a little, but it keeps me interested , engaged and thinking about democracy and citizenship! When the state can kill and then narrate the death as “terrorism,” the battlefield becomes the record itself.
January 6 is the template for that war on truth. The response has to match the moment: disciplined language, verifiable facts, and coordinated power, governors, courts, legislatures, labor, and civil society, acting in concert. Moral outrage is necessary. Precision is what makes it actionable.

I just left Cory Booker a voicemail telling him to take public steps get rid of Chuck Schumer. I love all the other ideas… But until we have economic suffering of the top 10% because of a major drop in the stock market, the top 10% most powerful people in the country won’t rise up. Perhaps the economic ruin will come this year that will save Liberty and the American ideal.
Don't think the midterms are going to automatically save us because the party in opposition to the president almost always retake the majority in the House. This time is different because Trump and his supporters are very visibly attempting to suppress the vote. Less visible may be their corruption of election software to manipulate the ballot count. Trump must corrupt the midterms to keep Republicans in control of the House and Senate to complete his authoritarian takeover and protect himself and his enablers. He is completely amoral and has no limits to what he will do, legal and illegal. There are a handful of organizations suing across the country to fight voter suppression, mainly gerrymandering and two organizations, Election Truth Alliance and Smart Elections who are suing to determine if there was a corruption of the 2024 election ballot count, but time is running out. The midterm elections are no sure thing.
I'm beginning to wish we had a parliamentary system like the UK. We've still have to somehow hang on another 11 months before voting out the new Nazi party. I've been voting for democrats most of my adult life and I totally agree with Steve that the party is feckless and lacks any kind of a spine. I can count on one hand the Senators and Representatives who speak out against this fascist regime. Where are the other 250?
