The speaker of the United States House of Representatives has no bank accounts of any kind, and believes people and dinosaurs lived together 6,000 years ago. He is second in line to the American presidency.
He is a dangerous man because he is a fanatic, a true believer. The abysmal state of American journalism has kept the American people chained to a very specific type of congressional miscreant.
The weird and the strange always get covered — the salacious too. Attention seekers like Nancy Mace and George Santos are closer to characters on “Real World” than members of Congress. They aren’t political leaders. They are political celebrities who roam an unusual space full of marble — if your decorating style is more “Real House Wives of Salt Lake City.” They are all the same people. Look at me! Look at me! Look at me!
Who can ever forget Lauren Boebert’s aggressive handsiness at her “Beetlejuice” appearance on a date? Space lasers get covered, and so do crazed Nazi-loving dentists who are denounced by their siblings.
Cynics are always covered because a talent for cynicism is rocket fuel in the Trump era. Kevin McCarthy and Elise Stefanik are perfect examples. Their rise must be covered because their power demands it.
The freak show never rests, and because that is so, it provides perfect cover for the least covered type of politician. The true believer. The extremist in our midst. Mike Johnson is indeed the “Handmaid’s speaker.” For whatever reason, his interpretation of Jesus Christ’s gospels of peace lead him to despise, denigrate and dehumanize millions of Americans in pursuit of happiness. Think about the cruelty of gay conversion therapy and the psychological torture inflicted on generations of our fellow Americans with its insanity and malevolence.
Mike Johnson of Louisiana shouldn’t be where he is. Now that he is, be warned.
Why do we only hear about this guy's extremism, his absolute unfitness for the job, on more liberal websites and MSNBC, but not in the more mainstream media? The average person has no idea that the new Speaker of the House of Representatives,, who is third in line to the President, is such a dangerous and ignorant person who is in way over his head. I think most of them would be scared as hell if they were to be properly informed.
Great. I guess the people of the great state of Louisiana missed the part about him thinking The Flintstones was a documentary.
