Thank you Jeffrey W. Huge, CMT, Mark McInerney, Mc Nelly Torres, Grace Alexandra Hayden, Susan DRENNAN GABRIEL, and many others for tuning into my conversation with Mike Brock.
The Dems may have some problems over the years but they also have a diverse group with a diverse constituency. Its hard to keep everyone happy. Whereas the Republican party will stick together right through a felonious insurrectionist candidate and president. Which brings me to another issue Dems have to learn to deal with, that's the fearless lying from trump, the Republican party and the stream of propaganda coming from right wing media. Trump hands the Dems so much ammunition, but they dont seem to use it. TV ads reach people, not a speech on CSPAN.
What's SCOTUS Going To Do About Their Lawless Nazi Leader Cheeto Now?
So it’s been clear that eventually WE the People would come to this crossroads where Der Fuhrer would come to his dictator senses and defy court orders It was only a matter of time He has been saying the quiet part out loud for the last 4 months at least But now saying he won’t obey the court order to release emergency funds to relieve the SNAP benefit cancellation will hopefully make its way to an urgent appeal to SCOTUS
The Heritage Foundation and Federalist Society made this Frankenstein monster Roberts and his gang of 5 have wanted since the 1980’s to have Unitary Executive who takes over the Executive branch and they now have their wish Now what are they going to do with this yo yo? He is clearly flouting the law and thumbing his nose at the judiciary How far does this Unitary Executive crap go?
As Eric Holder recently said “time for SCOTUS reform” and as Eilie Mystal has been saying for 2y SCOTUS needs to be expanded to at least 13 judges to offset this rogue court
Hopefully we win it all back. This time, I dont think "the people" will sit by and allow our representatives to go back to business as usual, like the Biden Administration and Merrick Garland after trumps first term. It was understandable for Biden in a way because he had so much to deal with but look at how much the trump Administration gets done. No more government is too slow, one thing at a time, blah blah blah. Move immediately on gaurdrails for democracy. The Supreme Court needs to have limits, pardons too. No more absolute presideial immunity, or bypassing Congress, and tear down the Big Beautiful Ballroom, it's a symbol America doesn't need. Just me venting.... congratulations to all of our great winners. I was at a county Sherrill victory party and it ended up with victory's for all. 😋
I feel like we've lost the small c's and small l's -- people who live in the gray area. One of the causes appears to me to be greed and excesses in capitalism.
We need to recognize that our politics resembles that of Berlin in 1933, and our response has to be similar to the one mounted by FDR in response to that.
Dems need to come with old fashioned Republicans together (as we seem to be doing) and become the party of the center culturally and economically the party of workers. Maybe we can get back to an eventual real old fashioned political system based on business vs workers and shed this cultural stuff. Also shed these old guys and gals who sit and occupy seats of delinquency.
Yes the Democrats have moved towards the educated and elites but the Republicans have moved to technocrats and authoritarian billionaires. Why is it that the voters follow one over the other? Neither party truly represents the working public, MAGA gives better talking points while the Democrats deliver more assistance. Where's the people's party?
Good interview with Mike Brock. I unsubscribed to him a while ago, because his arrogance and self importance overwhelmed the content of his insights and messaging. He made a lot of sense tonight and seemed more humble than usual.
I was definitely middle class growing up. Ronald Reagan was the first time I voted and I voted for him. I am thankful that I can now consider myself to be upper middle class and I wish everyday that we had someone like him in this moment.
Steve, what an amazing guest! I've now subscribed to Notes from the Circus. Mike is a true intellectual who has put together a theoretical review of the past forty years that is different from, but parallel to and compatible with the analyses of Tim Snyder, Anne Applebaum and others. Thank you!!

So true. MAGA and Dear Leader give Dems near daily gifts …. Only a few: Newsom, Crockett, Pritzker … use them appropriately
Everyone has their strengths and not everyone is as articulate as Newsom or AOC, a great comeback isn’t all we need.

Can 'consumer culture' last ? I hope the fuck not, eh ?
Power equal immortality in the minds of too many and of course immorality is impossible.
What a fascinating conversation. I’m going to subscribe to Mike’s sub stack right now. Thank you for introducing us to this great thinker, Steve..
Wow, thx Mike! U r wide extreme - what a voice in these times.

This was a great conversation. Would love to see more of Mike and you.
I was screaming packing the court when Biden was in. I feel that was one thing he blew very badly. Putting us at risk.

Based on my 'bike' travels cross country, I don't think a candidate from Cali can go from "fruit or nut" to saviour, eh ?
Not to mention JEALOUSY, eh ?
