I love my three dogs, Teddy, Tucker and Sophie, who all seem extremely indifferent towards the political insanity that has broken loose in MAGA America.

Here is a clip of Teddy coming to say “hi” during an MSNBC 11th Hour with Brian Williams interview. It was captured for the just-released Showtime “The Lincoln Project” documentary, executive produced by Fisher Stevens and Karim Amer.

Washington, DC, is awash in foreign money. Who is putting the national security and domestic tranquility of the American people first?

Who is betraying their oath, and breaking the country with hate and division?

Who is faithless to the ideas and ideals of the country?

What are those ideas and ideals, and what cost has been paid to hand them to us for temporary stewardship and expansion before we pass them to our children?

Soon, The Warning will expand from daily essays to include daily video commentaries that will aim to confront the extremist movement, as well as the cynical transactions driving it.

I am 52 years old, and have worked at the highest levels of American politics.  I have seen it all. I understand what happens when the cameras turn off. I want to take you there. Sometimes it’s a 145-pound Bernese Mountain dog looking for love. More often it’s not.

This won’t be a place that tells you that the monsters among us are mountain dogs. Nor will it be a place that doesn’t remember that life isn’t about fighting. Sometimes, it’s about slowing down and patting a good dog like Teddy.

That is what THE WARNING will aim to do.
