The atrocious behavior of everyone in Trump's regime is well-documented. The sad fact is, Patel's behavior is not unexpected and no longer unacceptable. Not only has Trump stripped America of its traditional values, he has created a cruder America, an America no longer shocked by a President who threatens to obliterate the entire population (93 million people) of a nation that refuses to bend to his will. Too few, especially in his party, object to his re-making our Capitol and the WH into a gaudy reflection of his own poor tastes, using funds that could help Americans and starving children overseas in an attempt to provide a "legacy" for himself.

Everything about Patel is not only sad - HE is DISGUSTING - a peek at why Democracies fail and cease to exist.

Thank you, Steve. This is deeply moving and disturbing at the same time. Can these obscene people think of any more ways ro desecrate our country? Is there no limit to their depravity and narcissism? I already know the answer. There isn't.

What can you expect from an alcoholic imbecile like Kash Patel? At the University of Arizona we have a very nice memorial to the USS Arizona and its crew. I make sure to visit this memorial every December 7th. I have stood at Cemetery Ridge at Gettysburg and think about Pickett’s last charge across this open field into to the face of withering cannon fire and 10,000 men were killed in 30 minutes. The Confederacy built on the backs of black slaves because the white plantation owners did not want to do the backbreaking work of picking cotton! In many ways this nation has never recovered from the Civil War as was demonstrated when on 01-06-2021 when the Confederate flag finally made it to the Capitol building thanks to the lies of the worst president in American history! Or like in the last several weeks when the corrupt US Supreme Court gutted the Civil Rights Act and the southern states rushed to start the Jim Crow 2 era! It will not last because the American people have had enough of the incompetence and thievery of Trump and his clowns!!!

Director Kash Patel’s participation in this "VIP snorkel" demonstrates a disqualifying lack of character and a profound failure of moral literacy. A leader of the nation’s premier law enforcement agency should instinctively know the difference between a sacred military tomb and a leisure park; because he clearly does not, he must resign immediately. His actions are a direct affront to the men entombed in the USS Arizona and to every service member who respects the weight of their sacrifice.

This was not a solitary lapse in judgment but a coordinated event, and we must demand to know exactly who joined him in the water and which officials authorized a restricted leisure tour at a site where diving is strictly prohibited for the public. When leaders treat our national inheritance as a personal playground for "bucket list" thrills, it signals a moral collapse of the republic. It is time to restore the line between public service and narcissistic entitlement by holding everyone involved in this obscenity to account. America’s fallen deserve leaders capable of honor, not consumers seeking exclusive spectacles.

Why did anyone determine that they couldn’t possibly say NO to this Degenerate? It absolutely has to do with Patel’s character but I’ll put some blame on those administering ‘rules’ around the Arizona — as if there SHOULD have been a rule!!! GD him!!

Kash Patel disgraces the term”disgrace”. And Trump will keep him, because he is literally the incarnation of the perfect Trump Regime FBI Director.

I was appalled by this behavior. This man is a disrespectful clown. I wonder what military personnel helped range this. Someone from Hegseth’s Pentagon I imagine where all dignified and experienced generals have been fired.

EVERYONE who is riding high in the Trump administration has not one clue what is coming for them down the road.

The top grifters will step away clean (they think) and everyone else is going down hard and fast. It will take more of an effort to nab the biggies but it will happen.

I urge them all the watch Nuremberg.

I'm crying tears of sadness for both the brave men who died on the Arizona and all that our nation has lost during the Trump administrations. This Mango Mad Hatter seems to revel in choosing the most incapable and truly despicable people he can uncover to work in his "regime". There seems to be a truly unending number of rocks which he can overturn to find the worst and most unqualified to rape and pillage the government. I am almost 80 and I just hope I live long enough to see every edifice he has built or changed brought back to its former state and his orange, bloated corpse either locked up or buried on a remote golf course. That fellow Americans especially congress members still believe he should remain in office boggles the mind.

I'm never able to conceive of what the next outrage might be. Thank you, Steve, for this grim and necessary news.

Kash Patel seems to be taking a lot junkets at our expense, but none compare in terms of disgracefulness. Next expect a him to hand out comparative Ka$h Patel watches crafted from pieces of the Arizona.

I wonder if dignity itself has been eroded permanently in our country -- now the only thing seems to be getting "influence" by any means; posing constantly for photos; recording every aspect of living; constant exposure --

Christine's avatar

I so agree! I even asked my son, what the he$$ is an influencer? I never saw a college degree in that discipline!

Of course, it’s the result of the stupid cell phone and internet where everyone thinks everyone else wants information about something stupid!

I really dislike what the is becoming!

There is no morality, no honor, no honesty, no appreciation for intrinsic values. I’m glad I was born when I was. I’m glad my children were raised when they were. They have an understanding of intelligence and education and empathy for others.

Abiding truths from Steve -- so very well put. We all should ponder his rhetorical question and its answers: "What kind of people lose the capacity to distinguish between a war grave and a leisure excursion? The answer is the people produced by Trumpism, who are incapable of restraint, and act like consumers at a theme park, rather than citizens responsible for preserving an inheritance. The USS Arizona isn’t a 'bucket list' adventure. It’s a tomb holding the remains of American servicemen who died in fire and darkness, while serving their country." Going back to my earliest cross-country "road trip" as a college student in the l960s, I have planned numerous itineraries around visiting such sacred places, including Gettysburg and Arlington, and later on, the Normandy American Cemetery at Colleville-sur-Mer in France. In the 1990s, before Ancestry.com and "Find a Grave" made searching for generations of relatives far easier -- I traveled to western Pennsylvania and southern Missouri to search for, and eventually locate in rural cemeteries, the graves of my maternal great-grandfathers who fought in the Civil War, one for the Union and the other for the Confederacy. Both were farmers, and they survived and lived full lives after the Civil War , but I've never thought for a minute that those lives constituted a resumption of "normalcy." Service in war, and experiencing its horrors, is self-sacrifice for a greater cause, no matter the war's outcome. I've visited each of these historic and obscure burial places with deep reverence for the men who had served in war, whether named on headstones or monuments or resting/recalled namelessly on sacred ground. I have never been to Hawaii, but were I to plan such a trip, paying tribute to those who lost their lives at Pearl Harbor, and the sailors and Marines whose eternal rest is in the sunken wreckage of the Arizona, would be a primary purpose for me. Their experiences are our American heritage. It just horrifies me that those handed the power to lead this nation are such callous, ignorant, self-serving buffoons that they don't even require of themselves proper decorum around military deaths, never mind actually understanding anything about the wars themselves or the lives cut short.

Remember our illustrious President's comment that these who sacrificed everything were "suckers and losers". Truly, the fish rots from the head.

You brought me to tears this morning. Appropriate for an action so vile. How did Trump find so many soulless people—like a cabinet of zombies.

Kathy Schuetz's avatar

Thank you Steve. Important the hear, but immensely disturbing!

Gordon Berry's avatar

Thank you Steve - So appropriate: "consumers at a theme park".

The theme park of the self-serving grifting idiot and his cronies is how they treat the whole of the USA populace - and indeed they try to make the whole world their monetized playground.

BUT - they are digging their own graves - may it be ASAP.

YES WE CAN

Bravo Steve👏👏

Some people will never get it because for everything that makes America great and exceptional—it means nothing to these people; they’re just greedy parasites.

All they see is an opportunity to exploit this country to their advantage! And as far as all those who have sacrificed and continue to sacrifice—you’ll hear “Thank you for your service” if you’re a white Christian, or don’t slam the door on your way to CECOT should you be a minority, immigrant or anyone else! Good times!…:)
