This is ‘Big Balls:’
Edward Coristine is one of Musk’s agents who has stormed into government offices, and demanded access to who knows what.
Over at “Morning Joe,” Captain Scarborough took the helm and listened silently as an exuberant MAGA Congresswoman breathed heavily — like Mika once did about Trump being Hitler — only this time it was about the necessities of handing over the constitutional responsibilities of the United States Congress to ‘Big Balls’ and his compatriots [starts at 9:05]:
Of course, Scarborough made an assertion that he is an “Article 1 champion” as if it were a negotiable and debatable proposition when speaking to two MAGA members of Congress from the site where Trump’s mob rampaged before his oligarchs gathered.
The flaccid assertion should be contextualized against the First Amendment and judged in that more familiar context.
Imagine if Scarborough declared himself a “First Amendment champion,” while the Congresswoman asserted the national emergency over spending is so great that Elon and ‘Big Balls’ need to take command of America’s newsrooms.
An American might be forgiven for wondering about Scarborough”s lackadaisical ho hum response before moving on, and giving license to more gaslighting that justifies the outrageous assault on Canadian sovereignty, dignity and security by a pathological liar in the Oval Office who claims victory, while sewing chaos.
Why didn’t Joe Scarborough stop the Congresswoman in mid-sentence, and simply ask the only question that mattered, and the only one that any person with even the faintest understanding of the United States of America would have asked, which is this:
So you support suspending the Constitution of the United States and giving up the power of Congress to spend money because of the emergency at hand?
Scarborough did not ask this question.
Instead, he just listened. He reacted as if he were on the opposite side of a debate over fisheries management or Western water policy.
One of Elon’s young incels was named Marko Elez. He is the quintessential ‘Little Eichmann’ I have written about many times.
He resigned because his vast trove of racist declarations and affinity for eugenics was uncovered by Wired, which has distinguished itself in a moment during which journalistic excellence is as hard to find as integrity in the media or a spine in the Democratic Party. They are there, but hard to see through all the clutter.
Benjamin Franklin observed in a different time and context that:
Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety.
What Joe Scarborough is allowing to happen without interruption during this “interview” is contemptible.
He knows full well the extent of either the abject ignorance on display, or the extent of the malevolent cynicism.
Scarborough knows that his audience is being told that there is a national emergency in Washington, DC, that is so great that it demands the usurpation of the Congressional powers by ‘Big Balls’ and Elon to fix.
Congresswoman McClain, standing next to what seems like a freshly cut MAGA gelding, is making the case that the US Constitution has run its course.
Here are her words:
I think that what Donald Trump is doing by appointing Elon Musk is absolutely brilliant, and I say that from this perspective: we have a spending problem — $36 trillion dollars in debt. We have a spending problem. It is going to take some unconventional thought process, some unconventional wisdom, to get us out of the mess we’re in right now. So what Elon Musk is doing right now, and what Donald Trump is allowing him to do is to audit the books, I think is brilliant. And listen, look at what we’re talking about here. We’re talking for the first time in a long time about inappropriate or mismanaged funds. We’re actually talking about the issues. That is the start. You can’t fix a problem without first admitting there is a problem, and President Trump is doing an amazing job by actually telling us, “Hey, we have a problem and look at what we’re uncovering,” so I’m happy we’re having the discussion.
Yes, by the way, I did know the United States had accumulated $36 trillion in debt.
In fact, Donald Trump is the biggest spender in American history.
It isn’t even close, but of course he didn’t do it alone. He did it with the help of McClain’s colleagues’ derelictions and malfeasance, and so now it is time to surrender liberty to Elon and ‘Big Balls,’ and an artificial intelligence program to fix it outside the law, any legislative process or framework whatsoever.
Congresswoman McClain is making an enthusiastic statement in favor of burning down the system of checks and balances and the US Constitution that created them, and Joe Scarborough just lets it happen as if this is a debate about a policy issue.
Obviously, the American news media is facing collapse across multiple fronts, which include commercial, moral and basic credibility.
Seventy-five days ago I wrote the following:
In the same way that the Hindenburg’s flames ended the age of the Zeppelin in Lakehurst, New Jersey, in 1937, the capitulation to Hitler, er, Trump destroyed the access media era forever that has so badly harmed the country.
It may prattle forward, but the death knell has sounded.
It was premised on the idea that relationships between powerful people that teased out over television or in The New York Times was the news that the plebes needed to hear — or maybe more precisely — deserved to know.
What Joe and Mika built was fresh — until it wasn’t.
When it became stale, it was harmless, but then Joe loosed his wings and decided to be three things at once: morning news mandarin, presidential adviser, and presidential spokesperson.
The decision, in the end, turned him into Baghdad Bob.
The bill for all of the performative bullshittery has come due.
It is tragic because what has been lost is something that is badly needed in America: trust.
On March 6, 2024, Joe Scarborough said that “this version of Biden, intellectually, analytically — is the best Biden ever,” and then told the viewers to “start your tape right now because I’m about to tell you the truth and a big f@#k you if you can’t handle the truth.”
Here is the full clip:
Their justifications make it worse. Much worse. The dressing-up of a cynical act and declaring it “journalism” makes a mockery of the practice of journalism, while burdening their colleagues with their cynicism.
Now, the “Morning Joe” audience is being subjected to a type of whitewashing that is the predictable end result of the great rush of media appeasement that Scarborough triggered.
While Scarborough wasn’t seated in the front row of the inaugural festival, his presence was surely felt for it was he who walked first to Mar-a-Lago’s front door to bend the knee. After him, came ABC News, CBS News executives, NBC, CNN, The Washington Post, The Los Angeles Times, and so many more.
The man who made history by telling his audience to ‘f*@k off’ if they didn’t believe his gaslighting about Joe Biden, who then was against Biden, then for him again, and then against again, before being against Hitler, before appeasing Hitler, before meeting with Hitler, having dialogue with Hitler, and understanding Hitler’s good intentions to fix the emergency is quite a ride down the ‘ole DC/NYC media flume.
Now, he listens earnestly and attentively to the justifications of an extremist Congresswoman who says that now is the time to abandon the foundations of American government and the Constitution.
Mind you, he might have asked why this wasn’t necessary during the Civil War, Great Depression, or World War I or II, but then again that wouldn’t be nice, and being nice to MAGA is the test of true journalism in the age of ‘Big Balls.’
Let me conclude by saying Article 1 of the United States Constitution isn’t transferrable, fungible or debatable.
It is.
It exists, and it endures as it has endured through many storms. It is the cornerstone of our civilization and society.
How was it exactly that America endured at all before the birth of Musk?
We stayed true to the US Constitution. We did not let go. Ever.
Joe Scarborough averted a fight and tough questioning because it was in his self-interest, not yours.
The American people and the audience deserved a serious and thoughtful repudiation of the radical notion that our problems have exceeded the ability of the US Constitution to manage them.
A great debate materialized, and then vanished into the mist.
Giving ground to insanity dressed up as problem-solving is not listening or understanding.
It is appeasement.
It is appeasement to this:
The problem with Joe Scarborough is that he sees everyone clearly. He knows exactly what is happening. He is a student of history, and absolutely fluent in the story of America.
His wilting is an act and a warning that must be noticed. When cornerstones that are beyond the realm of political debate become debatable and blithely so, the crisis is at hand. Make no mistake about that.
Elon Musk; uninvited, unelected and unconfirmed, has taken no oath to our Constitution; born in Apartheid South Africa, he’s morally detached and knows not our American ways.
He’s effectively a squatter in our government - pissing on Article I and usurping our rights, our property, our treasury, our privacy and birthright power to govern ourselves.
Congresswoman McClain is not brilliant; she’s a glaring imbecile; a vile Trump worshipper.
I stopped listening to Morning Joe even before the trip to bend the knee. Anyone who understands what Scarborough is doing should boycott the show. Once he's down to minimal viewers hopefully he and Mika will go bye-bye.
