Another frivolous lawsuit trying to steal from a company. The whole trump administration has this trait.

Another FRAUD in the Trump Regime - surprise, surprise to NO ONE! Part of the Massive Rampant Wide Spread FRAUD everywhere you look in this regime. Working for Donnie means kissing his rear end and going after his enemies and finding ways to stuff their pockets with loot and then whine when they get called on it. The WORST America has EVER seen!!! Nail every single one of them! Let NONE go free! Legal and Financial penalties for every one of them!!

Two such critical federal offices, each held by a man so unfit as to defy description: The Director of the FBI is a drunken nitwit and the Secetary of Defense is a drunken fanatical Christian Nationalist.

It is no wonder that PM Carney is looking to break the close economic ties between the US and Canada:

VANCOUVER, British Columbia — Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney said in a video address released Sunday that Canada’s strong economic ties to the United States were once a strength but are now a weakness that must be corrected.

In the 10-minute address, Carney spoke about his government’s efforts to strengthen the Canadian economy by attracting new investments and signing trade deals with other countries.

Thank You Anthony.. I admire Mark Carney. Maybe someday we will have someone in the WH who can repair all the damage numb nuts has done. That is if he doesn't start WWlll.

He is the kind of man we need as president to get us out of this mess. These men and women exist in American politics today; Raskin, Schiff, Buttigieg, Warren, Alsobrooks, Slotkin, and Pritzker are such men and women. The problem is the voting public which for complex reasons will not elect such qualified and decent people to the presidency.

mary M keymer's avatar

I think Pritzker could win even though he is Jewish .. Between the antisemites racists, misogynists, and homophobes one can only hope that the American people get fed up with how great these Republicans are making the country and put aside there beliefs and vote for a decent person.

Another ill advised lawsuit aimed at deflecting attention, which if it proceeds at all, will enable Atlantic to seek discovery and compel Kash to submit to deposition. Neither of those will help salvage what’s left of Kash’s already sullied reputation.

One can only hope you are right. These people make John Bolton and the Bush crowd look like a choir boys. It seems all these narcissists have to have the spot light. Kash had to be in the locker room stealing there spotlight .. Trumpty dumpty has to steal every single spotlight there is. No one can have there day in the sun. I feel sick when I see them. Thanks Steve for being so sure ..It gives me hope . lost in america

As always extremely important excellent journalism from Steve Schmidt. Or should I just say informed information again about this administration that is part of the most corrupt Commander in Chief’s in the current administration.

Stop and read! I beg you to keep Steve in your other or even first subscription(s).

Today he talked about Cash Patel and as always including history of others over time in his post.

And f course identifying him as chosen by our Fearless also evil and unfit commander in Chief Donald Trump.

So he's suing the Atlantic. I hope he gets deposed soon. Just another extremely stupid member of the Trump clown show. What a disgrace and an embarrassment for us. Hope he goes down soon.

The whole Cabinet decided their exalted positions, handed to them by Trump, were a license to steal. After all, they were just following their master's lead. However, even Master has his limits: No getting too big for their britches. No making him look bad. No getting too much spotlight on bad behavior. This was an excellent piece. It makes my day every time one of them bites the dust.

AN ADDICTION TO THE RUSH OF POWER

We recognize addictions, including those to alcohol, various drugs, smoking, and prescription medications, and we understand the unfortunate consequences of these addictions. Addiction is defined as “a chronic psychological and physiological condition characterized by the compulsive need to use a substance or engage in a behavior despite harmful consequences.” Scientists use two methods for investigating phenomena. One is induction, the scientific method, and the other is deduction, or the Sherlock Holmes method, in which the conditions can be explained by only one conclusion.

I have been trying to examine and understand the driving forces behind those who have spent their lives as powerful, controlling dictators, kings, generals, warlords, or executives who control the lives of their workers. As a retired scientist, I applied the scientific method. I tried to find similarities in their histories, personality types, or any accepted commonality that would explain why they have spent their lives as driven or compulsive people.

Why do world leaders who control countries still try to gain or control other countries? Why does this drive dominate their lives? History records the names of past rulers, kings, and warlords who spent their lives expanding their control over more and more land or accumulating ever more wealth. Their personalities are not similar, and their family backgrounds offer no commonalities, yet the only constant is this lust for power; they all have a compulsion to grow their kingdoms or countries, or a drive to conquer more. I couldn't find any similarity between Hitler and Stalin, or between Khrushchev and Mao. In our world today, there are more dictators or authoritarian regimes that we do not recognize, and we do not notice them. What motivates a dictator or authoritarian ruler to continue seeking more control or wealth, even though they are in their senior years and will live only a few more years? So, I tried the other method of discovery, the deductive method, and my study has identified what I believe is the best fit for their condition, namely that they have an addiction to power and that their addiction is like other addictions.

I am familiar with addiction, having spent a major portion of my life studying and treating various forms of addiction. Once a person becomes addicted, they become a different person; they lose any resemblance to who they were before their addiction. The addiction takes control of them and their lives. I discussed this with the parents of an addict who asked how their son could break into their house and rob them, and my answer was that he could because he was an addict; he was no longer the son he had been before becoming addicted.

Addictions take many forms; some are obvious to others, while others go unnoticed and unacknowledged. Compulsive behavior, for example, can be all-consuming, controlling, and difficult to change. People live their lives according to the rules of their compulsion and can succeed in their life assignments. Yet they are unable to stop the obsessive-compulsive behavior that controls their lives. When they die, they will die as obsessive-compulsive people.

Many forms of addiction respond to treatment, but assistance is usually sought only after severe consequences have occurred. With a power addiction, they never seek assistance because they do not recognize the damage they are doing, or they view the consequences of their addiction as appropriate to their success.

We identify, list, and discuss some addictions, including alcoholism, drug addiction, and the one that was most difficult for me to assist with, a gambling addiction. A gambling addict can gamble in many ways and may go unnoticed as having an addiction. I gained insight into addiction from my treatment and discussions with a gambling addict, who explained an important dynamic about addiction. He said it was not about winning more money; it was the rush and excitement he got from gambling. It was not winning; it was the feeling he got while in the game. I see this in sports, where the excitement of the competition is more important than the gold ring they would get if they won. The feelings generated by the game's total experience are intoxicating and can lead to a desire to repeat it.

Using the deductive method and applying the best-fitting explanation to those driven by the nature of their game, which is conquering, collecting more money, controlling more people, and the thrill of associating with others who are playing their game, the driving force in their lives is the addiction to the excitement of power. The rush of being powerful motivates their lives; they seek other places where they can get this rush, and they resemble all other addicts in that the addiction dominates their lives. We have a power-hungry president who is addicted to the feeling he gets from his power position. He has lost all sense of judgment; having spent his life as a power junky, his addiction has grown now that he can order aircraft carriers to move at his direction, and it's his addiction that will make him more insane as time goes on.

In summary, power addicts are addicted to the lust for power. I think this form of addiction is self-rewarding and beyond therapeutic intervention. When they hold a position that allows them to act out their addiction, they are extremely dangerous.

National Security Is Cheeto’s Cheap Answer

Have you noticed that every time Cheeto makes a statement about some foreign policy or decision he does it by making it about national security?

As Cheeto recently said, “We(Nazi Republicans) needed to go to war with Iran because they had a nuclear bomb(remember when Cheeto said his megabomb “obliterated” Iranian nuclear capability) and they were ready to bomb the USA” Since that time he has consistently said that he had to attack Iran because of the nuclear bomb capability and that high gas prices are worth it because we prevented Iran from getting a nuclear bomb

Of course the whole mass deportation policy is built around national security The worst among us are a national security threat so therefore deport all immigrants makes little sense but overall the central theme is how can Cheeto make the country safe

Even Cheeto’s desire to expand the country’s fingerprint in the Western hemisphere by wanting to take over Greenland, decapitating Venezuela leadership by kidnapping Maduro, considering invading Cuba This is all done for “national security”

Now of course because of the war expenses for national security Cheeto says it’s not possible for the Federal government to fund Medicare and Medicaid(https://bit.ly/4sBjKdv)

Trump is 'speaking' at the Correspondents Dinner. This is elder abuse! Child and elder abuse. Dr. Demento can't even talk or mutter to himself anymore.

When this cabinet was chosen we knew every one of these individuals was not remotely qualified for the work before them. How they would be found as the failures they were destined to be is just a series of amusing to horrifying splash downs.

In a republic it is the house that speaks for the citizens. They did nothing to prevent this calamity. Their silence has gone way beyond deafening.

Wow! Another MAGA not on my bingo card labor Secretary Lori Chavez-DeRemer resigns (is fired) for read notes "drinking and having an affair with a coworker." Women first in this regime. I think they will blame Tulsi Gabbard for all the Iran War failures, but it is only Monday.
