The most surprising thing is the surprise around the unleashed enthusiasm for the most powerful force in politics, which is change. Hundreds of polls confirmed the sentiment, yet it went unheeded until disaster struck, and the obvious could no longer be hidden. Too many people who knew better were willing to go on television and yell at the American people — or anyone who pointed out reality — in the name of a delusion. The polls weren’t wrong. The hacks running the party were, and the explosion of excitement confirms it.
Here is the bad news. If the election were tomorrow, Trump would win — though the gap continues to close between Trump and Harris. According to an ABC News/Ipsos poll released today, Harris’ favorability rating has strengthened since President Biden announced that he wouldn’t seek re-election. Importantly, her favorability rating with independents jumped to 44% from 28% just a week ago.
Harris is in the midst of digging out of a hole against the most malevolent political movement in America that has ever taken power. The attacks coming are going to be brutal, deceitful, racist, cruel and off the wall. They will have to be answered and rebutted by constantly counterpunching and keeping the spotlight on Trump. Whomever the election is about loses.
A presidential campaign is a character test, and the test is at hand for the vice president. She will prove her mettle and toughness to the world through deeds, not words. She must defenestrate The Donald, and leave his movement shattered by offering something better.
Kamala Harris stands at the edge of history. Will she be a uniter who crushes the vile Trump and his hideous running mate? I certainly hope so.
The early numbers are encouraging. With 99 days to go, things are looking up for liberty in America because Kamala Harris is moving up.
A friend who lives in The Villages of Florida shared with me pictures of a very large golf group there this morning with dozens of golf carts lined up and all sporting bright and bold Harris 2024 banners.
In the Land of Ron DeSatan with the Chump-loving Geriatrics, this is excellent.
More and more of us will emerge from our funk of depression and disillusionment of having a declining elderly man running against a delusional crazy old man. I don't think I realized how dark I felt until the sun began to shine with Biden's decision and the energy and excitement around Kamala Harris. I realize we are still in the honeymoon phase, but it is a breath of fresh air which will fuel and empower us to work hard and unimpeded until November. Whew.
