While everyone was raving about Newsome, I had my eye on Pritzker. He is a caring politician who tells the truth. I would happily vote for him for POTUS.

Sandra Tuttle's avatar

I am ready to fight. I will follow this man. He has the fighting spirit and the intellect to get us our of this trench, I believe. Hopefully all Dems will line up behind him.

Another leader we can all stand behind. The next few weeks will be very difficult as it takes only one anarchist, nihilist, false flag or even a guy throwing a subway sandwich to spark a violent reaction from the military, something he has tirelessly addressed. Do not take the bait. Please stay safe!

Pritzker must fight. Mobilize his National Guard and advise the Texas National Guard they will be arrested if they step off of Federal land. https://hotbuttons.substack.com/p/uninvited-trump-escalates-conflict?r=3m1bs

Prtizker is a standout in his steadfast resistance.

I have 3 of your shirts (Embarrassed American, Country Over Cult & 4 Freedoms), and a green MATFA cap, but this is the shirt I really want to wear here in my home in the Deep South:

“If you can convince the lowest white man he's better than the best colored man, he won't notice you're picking his pocket. Hell, give him somebody to look down on, and he'll empty his pockets for you.”

― Lyndon B. Johnson

I'll pay double!!

Exactly, who cares what helps in 2026 or 2028. Rally behind the straight talkers and the fighters now. Otherwise, we have no hope.

Sandra Tuttle's avatar

Yes Rick. I believe we have to move right niw!! Nit waste a day.

Gammyjill's avatar

He’s my governor and he’s doing a marvelous job. I can only hope we follow him out of this horrific time.

Sandra Tuttle's avatar

He is a great man. He makes me feel comfirtabke because h fights like I think we should be fighting.

"What is it that he sees clearly?"

The country is in the hands of true sociopaths. Is that what obscene wealth does to people? Imagine having a million dollars a thousand times over, and relishing even more so badly that you'll cozy up to, cooperate and compromise with a gaudy, twisted, would-be dictator hell bent on destroying the fabric of our country.

Perhaps it's time to stir up good trouble (in the way of exposure) for the puppet masters behind the curtain, so even MAGA faithful will understand that the Murdochs of the world are not their friends, and are playing them for fools.

Anthony j. Santo's avatar

I am very optimistic that the sociopath-in-chief will soon be revealed as the monster he is. Even after several victims of Epstein and Maxwell (whom Trump bribed by moving her to a white collar "resort" prison) testified yesterday about their terrible victimization by Trump's sex-trafficking friends and their desire for the Epstein files to be released, Trump said any representative who votes for revealing the entirety of the Epstein files will be deemed to be "hostile to the administration." Even Mace, Boebert, and MTG have said they will vote to release the files.

Humpty-Dumpty is about to fall off the wall with a SPLAT heard round the world.

NanceeM's avatar

Revealing the truth will be seen as hostile to the administration. Let that sink in. It's an admission of guilt - for exactly what, we don't know, but it is a cover-up. There are still 2 more Republican votes needed, assuming those named will not back out. Trump and his goons are actively applying the pressure to stop this petition. It's moment of truth time. If the GOP folds, Democrats need to head for the nearest camera and mike and make clear that that party voted down the release of those files. It was the GOP that lobbied to see those files. Let's see how they explain passing on the opportunity.

Sandra Tuttle's avatar

From your lips, Anthony, from your lips.

Anthony j. Santo's avatar

The gaping orange asshole is now calling the the entire sordid story of Epstein and Maxwell a Democratic hoax!!!!!

Didn't MAGA have a conspiracy theory central to their identity that Clinton and other Democrats were involved in a satanic child trafficking operation involving drinking the childrens' blood? Wasn't the headquarters in the non-existent cellar of a D.C. pizzeria?

Charlie's avatar

Hmm, I don't think Humpty Dumpty will fall off the wall.

If his Maker (down below) doesn't come collect him, and if Peter Thiel doesn't decide it's time to replace him, my bet is Humpty will have to be roped and pulled down. Like one of them ole Confederate statues. I think there are a lot of women ready willing and able to sign up for the rope line.

Finally, at very long last, someone else with a backbone. Now there are two. May Newsom and Pritzker not stand alone.

Sandra Tuttle's avatar

I perceive Oritzker as the smarter of the two, but yes, they areboth better than House and Senate Dem leadership at this time.

Charlie's avatar

Interesting observation! I recently heard two interviews/ chats with Newsom. He used to give me a pain. (I'm afraid I thought he was too good looking. ) I was surprised at how thoughtful and balanced he is, with a satisfying vocabulary. Mind you, I loved Pritzker from the first time I heard him come out swinging.

Sandra Tuttle's avatar

I like both. My comment I believe was just a peronal preference at this point in time. Pritzker just fights they way I like to fight. Im a pretty serious person. I try to know facts, use those those facts to my advantage, stay within my realm of control, but firmly state what I will do and stick to it. I hope Pritzker doesnt let federal troops set one foot on state land in Illinois. We will see. I'd follow either one, though.

Ps. Ive known The orange tvrd is a blow hard puzzie and a thief since before 2016.

Outstanding piece and it moves us to act, rather than shut up. Abundant thanks.

Max's avatar

Thank God some Democrats get it. Pritzker and Newsome definitely get it.

We must relentlessly tell the truth every moment, insist on facts, and take concrete actions to oppose this current administration.

We are in an existential struggle. We need to start acting like it.

It is abundantly clear that Trump is executing a slow rolling coup d’Etat against our constitutional governing system and laws. As he is now planning a blanketing marshal law invasion of our major Democratic cities in blue states, he violates and betrays the most fundamental principles our founders.

As Montesquieu reflected in 1748, “The political liberty, of the subject, is a tranquility of mind arising from the opinion each person has of [their] safety. In order to have this liberty. It is requisite the government be so constituted as one [person] need not to be afraid of another."

We are steeped in a national emergency, not out of control crime in our blue cities, but rather out of control crime in our executive branch. The Vox Populus is the final bulwark defending democracy, it is now time to make America our country again.

David Hope's avatar

Any of us who have known anything about Pritzker have not for a moment thought he was “deranged.” No.

He was, and is, calmly right.

At the moment all people of good will must rally to Pritzker.

Now.

Robert Jaffee's avatar

“The main point now, in this moment, is the defiance. The defiant leaders are the ones worth rallying towards.”

Well said Steve. Honestly, at this point, I’d settle for leaders who live in reality and not some bubble that democracy still exists. That ship has sailed, and the longer we ignore the 800 lb gorilla that has been cannibalizing our venerated institutions, the worse this is going to get.

Time to wake up America; everything we hold dear is on the precipice of being lost in the annals of history, as this goon squad continues to rewrite history! IMHO…:)

Charlie's avatar

I am hoping to return to living in a blue state after this November's election. VA Republicans are krazy, magas before there was MAGA.

Robert Linder's avatar

Pritzker is absolutely right and Steve's analysis is spot on. But, unless the Republican members of congress and/or the Supreme Court hear these truths and come to their senses, things will continue down this dark path. At least until the midterms (if we have them). The protests are extremely important and must continue, but have not deterred the rapid slide into authoritarianism.

Anthony j. Santo's avatar

See my response to Gar Miller a few comments above. The Orange demagogue is about to be exposed as an "emperor with no clothes." I really don't believe he can squirm out of the revelations that will come to light with the release of the Epstein files. The "House of Maga," rotten to the core, is about to fall.

NanceeM's avatar

Friend, he's been totally naked for years now and has ascended to the most powerful position on the globe (though he's doing his best to pull it down). The important thing about Pritzker is his demonstration of clarity and resolute leadership. I'll buy what he's selling any day of the week. Fortunately, he's my governor. Unfortunately, I'm not in Cook County, but in the more Missouri-like part of the state. Come the revolution I may need to travel.

Anthony j. Santo's avatar

NanceeM, on this site we all know that; but some want desperately to cling to their belief that Trump is some kind of "super hero," anointed by god to save our country. I think it will be very difficult to reconcile that belief with the information coming out from the victims of Epstein/Maxwell, Trump's desperate efforts to keep the files under wraps, and the content of the files. Trump can not successfully attack the victims of his "best friend" of many years. And, how will he defend moving Maxwell to a resort style white collar federal prison?

NanceeM's avatar

In a rational world, that would be true. In our current environment, I've seen Trump retain support that would have sent others to a life sentence in exile and shame. I no longer predict that he can't pull something off, even when it flies in the face of all reason. We have seen this movie too many times now. America likes nothing better than con artists and action heroes, and he is consummate in the former role and fantasized into the latter.

Anthony j. Santo's avatar

NanceeM, I hate to admit it, but you are probably right. At a WH dinner last night the tech billionaires, Zuckerberger sat on his right, fawned over him, offering overwheming praise, as if this two-bit con man were a truly great president.

NanceeM's avatar

Absolutely, he's had many collaborators.

Pritzker is looking better every day. I've been listening to him and he is not a mealy-mouthed Democrat. This guy tells it like it is. Don't f'k with me. I'm so glad to finally see some fighting spirit in a Democrat. If he tosses his hat into the ring in 2028, so far he has my vote.
