"I don't know."
I don’t know.
This was Donald Trump’s answer when Kristen Welker of “Meet the Press” asked him this question:
Don’t you need to uphold the Constitution of the United States as president?
The question could have been asked at any moment over the last 3,611 days by hundreds of different “journalists.”
Why was it never asked?
Thinking about it, when has Donald Trump ever been asked a penetrating question about the cornerstones of the American way of life — ever?

There are no interviews to be seen or read because these types of questions were never asked.
Ever.
Each day, Donald Trump pretends that he is king.
Each day, America’s corporate media gets in line with the sick charade, pretending that Donald may actually possess the power that he is pretending to possess, which he doesn’t and can’t because of the US Constitution. He says that he doesn’t know if he is obligated to follow — let alone preserve, protect or defend — it.
The United States Constitution is the law of the United States.
This is not in dispute.
This is not debatable.
This is immutable.
The American people were sold out, and left undefended, by the corporate media.
These are shameful days, but how we got here is clear as day. Let’s not pretend it isn’t.
Ten years.
It took 10 years for an American journalist to ask this question:
Don’t you need to uphold the Constitution of the United States as president?
Ten long years, and now we know.
I don’t know.

Perhaps. I think that it may be a bit of an oversimplification to lay all of of this on the media, though. To anyone who has been even the least bit attentive to what this clown has been saying and doing over the past 10 years (or longer), it should have been obvious that this man in not only oblivious to our constitution, be he also completely contemptuous of it. If nothing else, voters should have started to pick up on this by Jan. 6, 2021. No, it doesn’t excuse the media‘s sanewashing of so many of Trump‘s disgusting antics, but a very large block of the voting population bears a significant brunt of the responsibility for our current circumstances as well. Whether this was a result of delusion, denial, complacency, apathy or just plain old stupidity, casting a vote for this idiot, or just failing to vote, is something that is both incomprehensible and inexcusable.
The media has always treated Trump like a violent known mafia chief. Like rats mesmerized by a cobra, they loved his wild lies and claims and never dared to stand up and insist not just on answers but explanations. What we need is a reporting profession that knows its job and goes after the truth. They did it in Nixon’s administration. Is it because they, like politicians, are wholly owned subsidiaries of the oligarchs?
