Harris must engage with Trump
Donald Trump has revealed himself to be exactly who I have told you he is with a series of shocking and credible threats against the Constitution of the United States and the freedoms of every American citizen.
Here are the three main threats, which he reiterated this past weekend:
"I always say, we have two enemies. We have the outside enemy, and then we have the enemy from within, and the enemy from within, in my opinion, is more dangerous than China, Russia and all these countries."
He said that a “smart president” could handle outside adversaries "pretty easily," but "the thing that's tougher to handle are these lunatics that we have inside, like Adam Schiff. I call him the enemy from within.
“The enemy from within” is purposeful and powerful language. It is the language of Hitler and Stalin. Trump has laid his cards on the table, and the answer to his proposition must not be babble about joy. This is a consequential hour that demands an assertion of fierce conviction about a way of life that must be sustained because we do not have the right to trash what we didn’t build.
Trump continues to ramp up his rhetoric claiming that his critics are criminals.
In a speech on Friday in Aurora, Colorado, Trump attacked the immigration system and said this about Harris:
“She’s a criminal. She’s a criminal. She really is, if you think about it.”
This from the man who was found guilty of 34 felony counts of falsifying business records in his New York hush money trial.
Trump has repeatedly threatened to lock up his political opponents if he wins the White House. Even the Republican Party platform proposes to “hold accountable those who have misused the power of Government to unjustly prosecute their Political Opponents.”
Our shared obligation is to preserve and strengthen an inheritance for the next generation of Americans that will move the reality of American life closer to America’s ideals. What Donald Trump is saying is grotesque and un-American. It demands repudiation and confrontation. Kamala Harris must pass this final test to be elected president. If she fails to pass it, national catastrophe will be at hand. It is as simple as that.
All of the preliminaries are over now. Kamala Harris must engage with Donald Trump. She must speak clearly and directly about what he has become over 10 long years. She must offer a choice that is perfectly clear. The test is at hand.
Donald Trump is threatening all of us. He is threatening the American way of life and scores of millions of Americans support him enthusiastically. Many more can’t tell the difference between Trump and Harris — or they are indifferent. Maybe this will help.

I cannot understand Kamala's hesitancy to attack Trump. I do not doubt that she would counter any courtroom argument against her case directly and skillfully, so why not Trump's un-American, clearly fascist assertions? Drop the middle class references and attack the monster.
