Give 'em hell, Jon!
Jon Ossoff is meeting the moment that duty requires be met.
He is stepping up, and it is thrilling to watch.
Jon Ossoff has fundamentally rejected Schumer-ism, which is a form of delusion, defeatism and incompetence. It is wrapped together and sprinkled with Democratic pollster voodoo powder that has produced hollow pablum to meet a national emergency.
Ossoff is calm, deliberate and steely-eyed. He is filled with conviction, and is unafraid in a vast field of feckless men and women who have chosen to kneel for Trump rather than stand for us. He pulls no punches, and gives no quarter to those corrupt and faithless Americans who have abused the people it was their privilege to serve.
He is a truth teller in an era of lies. He is man who doesn’t seem inclined to flinch from his recognition that a requirement of this consequential moment is the obligation to meet it with purpose, resolution and toughness that does not yield to threats, intimidation or MAGA bluster.
These words, spoken with precision, clarity and integrity were necessary because each day in America begins in the fog of MAGA insanity and Trump’s depravities. The corporate media are his partners, and nothing is on the level.
The requirements for meeting this moment are simple.
Clarity is the key, and defiance is the cure.
This is what makes Ossoff so compelling as a communicator.
On June 20, 2017, the lowest night of Jon Ossoff’s career, the night he lost the GA-6 special election, I said the following about him to Lawrence O’Donnell:
I think she [Karen Handel] is going to be a number one target for Jon Ossoff next year. He’s not fallen off the map, people are going to stay enthusiastic. I wouldn’t be surprised if we get a rematch next year and the result may turn out to be different.
Here is what I said on May 9, 2025, about him to Tara Palmeri of “The Red Letter:”
On the Senate side, Jon Ossoff, after re-election…I could see him making a [presidential] run.
He is the real deal.
MAGA must be dealt with forcefully, clearly and directly.
In other words, they must be given hell in the tradition of Harry Truman. While on the campaign trail, a man cried out to him:
Give ‘em Hell, Harry!
Truman responded:
I don't give them Hell. I just tell the truth about them, and they think it's Hell.
I thought of that quote as I watched the architect of Chris Christie’s ‘Bridgegate,’ Bill Stepien, a discount store version of Scott Jennings, summon his outrage to denounce the unfairness and meanness directed at Donald Trump and Natalie by mean ‘ole Jon Ossoff on CNN.
He called it "below the belt.”
I have news for Mr. Stepien and the couple of thousand pigs who have fed at the Trump trough over these years of corruption and insanity. The “below the belt” criticisms will never stop. There will never be a day of rest or peace for those who dared raise their hand against the US Constitution and says it as it is, like Ossoff:
He doesn’t want to do the job. He wants to build his ballroom and travel with Natalie on their apparently defenseless flying palace gifted by the emir of Qatar.
Accountability is coming.
Reformation is coming.
America will not go gently into that good night or into the Trumpian ooze.
This is the point of Jon Ossoff’s direct hit.
The disgusting Steven Cheung, a mutant version of Goldfinger’s man servant and chauffeur Odd Job, proves the wisdom of the old Texas saw “a hit dog barks,” but comparing Cheung, a true sloth, to such a noble creature is demeaning to all dogs everywhere so a better analogy is required.
Donald Trump is more banana slug, and his trail always leads to the stench that Adam Kinzinger so eloquently described on Jimmy Kimmel:
So if you take like armpits, ketchup, makeup, and a little butt, it's probably like that all mixed up.
MAGA is sad.
MAGA is mad.
Frankly, it makes me glad.
That is why Jon Ossoff makes me so very happy in these dog days of August during the fall of the American republic in 2026.
It is incredible that the next presidential inaugural speech will take place 96 years after these momentous words were spoken in January of 1933 by the man who would save the American feee enterprise system, American democracy and ultimately the world.
Here is how FDR began his epic presidency:
This is preeminently the time to speak the truth, the whole truth, frankly and boldly. Nor need we shrink from honestly facing conditions in our country today. This great Nation will endure as it has endured, will revive and will prosper. So, first of all, let me assert my firm belief that the only thing we have to fear is fear itself--nameless, unreasoning, unjustified terror which paralyzes needed efforts to convert retreat into advance. In every dark hour of our national life a leadership of frankness and vigor has met with that understanding and support of the people themselves which is essential to victory. I am convinced that you will again give that support to leadership in these critical days.
Happiness lies not in the mere possession of money; it lies in the joy of achievement, in the thrill of creative effort. The joy and moral stimulation of work no longer must be forgotten in the mad chase of evanescent profits. These dark days will be worth all they cost us if they teach us that our true destiny is not to be ministered unto but to minister to ourselves and to our fellow men.
Recognition of the falsity of material wealth as the standard of success goes hand in hand with the abandonment of the false belief that public office and high political position are to be valued only by the standards of pride of place and personal profit; and there must be an end to a conduct in banking and in business which too often has given to a sacred trust the likeness of callous and selfish wrongdoing. Small wonder that confidence languishes, for it thrives only on honesty, on honor, on the sacredness of obligations, on faithful protection, on unselfish performance; without them it cannot live.
Restoration calls, however, not for changes in ethics alone. This Nation asks for action, and action now.
Jon Ossoff was explicit. He was calling for reformation or restoration.
I think he is going to have a lot more to say. I, for one, am ready to listen.

I finally feel like I can begin to breathe…right now it’s just a little bit until I see and hear more from Ossoff…but damn it feels good cuz I’ve been holding my breath for soooo long!
I, too am very impressed and inspired-finally! Optimism is returning with his speeches; he’s authentic and articulate and pissed off. I’m sold at this point…
