Congressman-elect George Santos is a liar and an imposter. Every aspect of his life is a lie. All of it.
He did not work for Goldman Sachs and Citigroup.
He did not graduate from college.
He is not the grandson of Jewish refugees who fled the holocaust. He is not “Jew-ish.”
He did not lose employees in the Pulse Night Club shooting like he claimed.
He stands accused of crimes in Brazil, and he may not be a US citizen.
How did this happen?
Simple. Corruption and incompetence.
The DCCC is the organization within the Democratic Party that runs House races. It is incompetent. The evidence of this was the defeat of its chairman in his own New York district and the failure to do the basic research on Santos that would have revealed this.
The NRCC is the organization within the Republican Party that runs House races. This committee is controlled by Kevin McCarthy. It is corrupt, incompetent and wholly indifferent towards the extremist loons like Madison Cawthorn, Lauren Boebert and Marjorie Taylor Greene, who should be living together in a reality show tree house.
The New York Times calls itself the “paper of record,” and of course is from New York. Its political coverage is broken. Completely. Or, it has been corrupted by access journalism and the abandonment of reporting. Though the Santos story was broken by The New York Times, the question remains: why wasn’t Santos examined as a candidate by ANY New York media? The answer to the question is a business one. It has nothing to do with journalism.
The voters of the 3rd Congressional District of New York elected him. They voted for a pathological liar. They were duped. That’s on them, not the imposter who duped them. The simple truth of the matter was laid bare by Winston Churchill long ago when he said that “each country has the government they deserve.” The same applies to the 3rd Congressional District of New York.
