Pete Hegseth is many things at once.
He is a laughingstock and a leashed man, followed everywhere by his wife so that the captain’s wives may be safe while they are on sea duty, and the champagne stays corked.
He is an incompetent who defies easy indictment because of his staggering achievements in the field of clusterfuckery, which few humans have ever mastered so thoroughly.
Hegseth, the Einstein of Signal-gate, a real-life Captain Queeg with his own polygraph team, makeup room and his beautiful third wife Jenny better by his side, has made clear his devotion to Trump and Jesus during his short tenure mismanaging his duties and the lives of America’s soldiers.
Just recently he made clear his affinity again:
Now, what is the meaning of that quote — “All of Christ for All of Life?”
Does it mean that he carries the spirit of the Sermon on the Mount in his heart?
It does not.
It is a quote about political control, and it should terrify you.
Pete Hegseth is a clown, but he is a venomous one. What he stands for is un-American, extreme, and ultimately, a profound evil which is made worse because the evil manifests itself as sacrilege.
Look at this picture:

What do you see?
From the first instant, the answer should have been danger.
It should have been evil.
What has changed in America between then and now that would give Christian nationalist pastor Doug Wilson, the extremist zealot who claims God’s mandate is to deny women the right to vote, the confidence to step forward into the sunlight with his message?
Pete Hegseth follows this man, and his sick views are a national cancer.
The greatest idea in the history of the world was the American concept of separation of church and state. The absence of a national religion has prevented the horror that comes when ordinary men claim God’s power to rule over men. This is precisely what Hegseth’s newly voluble pastor proposes in dulcet tones and a reasonable manner.
Lest anyone be concerned at all by Pamela Brown of CNN’s interview with Mr. Wilson, he is a real-life commander from “The Handmaid’s Tale.” He thinks that his fantasy is coming true.
Judd Legum of Popular Information has detailed the long, sordid, public record of Mr. Wilson, who thinks slavery was a benign and wonderful experience for the enslaved:
He fits perfectly within a right-wing sewer system that believes Winston Churchill is the villain of World War II, while Hitler was misunderstood and that the Holocaust never happened. Interestingly, many of these same people also believe that January 6, 2021, was a day of peaceful protest, and that Trump won an election that he lost.
Mr. Wilson believes many things that should be more widely known before they are imposed on what used to be free people by the point of a bayonet, including this:
Wilson claims that "[s]lave life was to [the slaves] a life of plenty, of simple pleasures, of food, clothes and good medical care." He urges people not to "overlook the benefits of slavery for both blacks and whites."
Washington, DC, is the capital city of the United States, named for the father of the country. It is filled with monuments to the men and women who built, sustained and redeemed the mightiest force for freedom and liberty in world history.
Soon, Donald Trump and Pete Hegseth will turn the capital of the United States into what looks like a militarily-occupied city.
The face you will be seeing is the fascist mask being dropped completely.
The sewer that has sprung to life under the MAGA banner is announcing its intentions loudly, clearly and aggressively.
It is past time to pay attention.
With regard to the “good life” lived by America’s slaves and their masters, and the idea that Robert E. Lee was a great man, here is a photograph of “whipped Peter:”

Here is a photograph:
You tell me: what country are these men from?
What about this one?
Which ones are the Russians?
Which ones are the Americans?
Freedom is not negotiable in America. It was decided long ago that it is a right that comes from a creator, and that right does not need re-interpretation from Doug Wilson and Pete Hegseth.
The danger is closing in, my friends.
It is closing in.

“Freedom is not negotiable in America. It was decided long ago that it is a right that comes from a creator, and that right does not need re-interpretation from Doug Wilson and Pete Hegseth.”
Unfortunately for the rest of us, while freedom may not be negotiable, under Trump and Vance; it’s definitely transactional!
And as Sinclair Lewis famously said (or not, depending on the source), “when fascism comes to America, it will be draped in a flag, and carrying a cross!”
One of our problems is we underestimated the evangelical movement in America, and that of their goals and ultimate aims.
This movement is built on fascist principles. God above all, then Church Enders. Then Ministers. Then the Husband/Father. Then the Wife. And finally their adoring and obedient children. And obedience is the point!
Enter Trump: A man who exudes fascism. He adores authoritarian kleptocrats, while despising democracy. And is the embodiment of the Peter Principle; rising to the level of one’s incompetence; although, in fairness, he reached that level in the third grade.
Bottom line, we need to make everyone who supports Trump and the MAGA movement, who aren’t part of the cult, to understand that this is a toxic movement, and one in which the goal is an authoritarian theocracy, not a flourishing democracy; before it’s too late! IMHO…:)
To understand what Hegseth meant I recommend the documentary film, "Bad Faith" currently streaming on Amazon Prime.
