Fools with power are lethal
PLUS: I join "The Don Lemon Show" at 10:25 am ET + I interview "Fighting Democrat" Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey at 12:00 pm ET TODAY on Substack Live. Tune in to both!
Donald Trump promised peace, and delivered war.
He attacked the United States Capitol when he lost an election, and sent a murderous mob with no plan to stage a coup to kill Mike Pence.
Trump is a liar, deviant, pedophile protector, adjudicated rapist, felon, and fascist.
Over and over again, a corrupt corporate media has told the American people that Trump is not what he plainly is: a fascist.
Trump is a version of Hermann Göring, as described by Hjalmar Schacht, Hitler’s economic advisor, who hated him with a passion. This is what he said about Göring:
Endowed by nature with a certain geniality which he managed to exploit for his own popularity, he was the most egocentric being imaginable.
The assumption of political power was for him only a means to personal enrichment and good living.
The success of others filled him with envy. His greed knew no bounds.
His predilection for jewels, gold, and finery was unimaginable.
He knew no comradeships… In his personal appearance … one could only compare him to Nero, [appearing at tea once in a sort of Roman toga and sandals studded with jewels, his fingers bedecked with innumerable jeweled rings … his lace painted and his lips rouged.
All of the top Nazis hated each other, as do the top MAGA men and women.
Each is a rival of the person next to them, and each has a knife in one hand for the back in front of them, and eyes in the back of their heads for the shiv in the hand behind them.
They are all actors upon the American Nero’s stage.
Donald Trump’s island of misfit toys, the most incompetent political Cabinet in American history — and the most distrusted group of Americans in our history — have distinguished themselves with acts of corruption, depravity, incompetence, constitutional faithlessness, pettiness, brutality, malice and plain idiocy that are stupefying to consider as a whole, and shocking when taken piece by piece.
Shocking.
Kristi Noem’s performance before both the Senate and House was a staggering indictment of Trump’s terrible judgement, but also an indictment of America’s rot.
Preposterous thy name is Kristi Noem.
Perhaps Dr. Casey Means can study the connection between Mar-a-Lago face and brain damage.
The best part of Kristi Noem’s public humiliation, besides her confession to a sexual relationship with Corey Lewandowski, while her cuckold husband Bryon Noem grimaced behind her, is when she starts citing the minutia of the ad campaign concocted by firms she claims to know nothing — nothing — about.
But all of that pales in comparison to Pete Hegseth and the madness of his pronouncements.
He is a “South Park” cartoon:
This is real:
So is this:
Fifteen countries have now been attacked by Iran as the war instigated by Netanyahu and Trump spirals.
Soon, Donald will start talking about sending American troops to Iran. Soon after that, MAGA will start talking about the need to make America great by making sure that we have a draft.
Don’t worry, so long as you have enough Trump coin, your kids won’t have to fight.
America is at war, and the war is being directed by broken children.
Each broken child is competing for the love of their leader, who hates them.
Each broken child is as clueless as the next about what comes next.
There is no plan.
There is no strategy.
There is no coherence behind the bluster and pronouncements of MAGA’s hyped-up warlords preening for teenage basement boys watching the explosions, while playing video games.
It is grotesque.
This is the map of affected nations:
There is no commercial shipping or oil tankers moving through the Strait of Hormuz.
There is going to be a massive economic impact that will arrive with brutal suddenness in the weeks and months ahead.
Tough times have come because they have been chosen.
We the people are led by a troupe of maliced clowns.
We are at sea upon a ship of fools.
Fools with power are lethal.
Pete Hegseth is so much more than a drunk and a religious crackpot.
He is a grade-AAA monkey with a gun.
These are dangerous days.

Steve-
Ruth Ben-Ghiat has documented how authoritarian regimes consistently elevate loyalists over competence, Mussolini's inner circle being a prime example.
What we're witnessing mirrors that pattern precisely: performance replacing governance, and personal fealty substituting for expertise. History shows these arrangements don't stabilize, they accelerate toward catastrophe. The Strait of Hormuz closure alone could trigger a global economic shock.
When did spectacle become acceptable as a substitute for statecraft?

I’ve never read a more apt description of the current regime. We will all suffer a heavy burden lasting long after they are gone.
