If this news doesn't waken every American to the danger and corruption endemic in the Trump administration, nothing will:

“Trump could have fought for us. He really could have. Instead, he made self-serving deals. He would send life-saving equipment if only we would agree to praise him on the Sunday talk shows. That is literally a deal that he put in front of me.

“I was desperate. My hospitals were filling up. And time was of the essence, so I agreed that I would do that if he sent me what we needed. Because my job at the time was to do virtually anything to get the White House to help us save lives.

“Needless to say, he never delivered for us. He never delivered for the American people. And Donald Trump proved who he really is in that critical moment.” – Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker.

Why the MAGAKLAN thinks our govt should be managed and run as a business is a blatant sign of their ignorance.

Why they would vote for a con-man to run the govt as a business is head-slapping astounding.

I don’t know if this would make a difference to the MAGAKLAN but……..here goes…….

In your home town / city, how much money ( profit ) did the Fire, Police, first responders, EMT’s, sanitation workers, etc generate for your town / city?

Short answer: zero $$$$.

They’re a service(s) NOT a business. Yes, we shouldn’t be tossing money around said services haphazardly. We should be watching where the ( tax ) money goes and how effective it is. No argument there. However, these are required services for peaceful and stable communities. In short these are insurance policies for peace and stability in your towns, cities, et al.

That is our govt in D.C.’s mission statement as well. And, that is to insure that our states, cities, towns, townships and communities are stable and protected. It’s not driven by profit as a business would be. The govts bottom line is not how much profit they make. People are not products to be sold and haggled over. It’s not a business where deals result in more $$$$ being made.

Do you think there is a chance the MAGAKLAN would understand this? Even just a little?

Trump never cared about anyone, but himself! He is now in the position that he always wanted to be: a wanna be King/dictator! He can now control everything, including us! He has already started to destroy everything that America stood for, so that America can be in his own image! He believes that he is as great, or greater than God! The "christian nationalists", along with a weak Congress, and lopsided Supreme Court, helped to fuel this idea. Trump feels invincible. He will help no one, not even his own family! Yes, Trump could have helped to make America a greater country, he could have helped the American people; he just doesn't want to!

Where’s L’il Marco?

Neither of Rubio's parents were U.S. citizens at the time of Rubio's birth in 1971 in Miami.[6][7] They applied for U.S. citizenship and were naturalized in 1975.[5] Some relatives of Rubio's were admitted to the U.S. as refugees.[8]

Rubio's maternal grandfather, Pedro Victor Garcia, immigrated to the U.S. legally in 1956, but returned to Cuba to find work in 1959.[9] When in 1962 he fled communist Cuba and returned to the U.S. without a visa,[8] he was detained as an undocumented immigrant and an immigration judge ordered him to be deported.[9][10] Immigration officials reversed their decision later that day, however, and the deportation order was not enforced. Instead, Garcia was reclassified to a legal status of "parolee" that allowed him to stay in the U.S.[8][11][12] Garcia re-applied for permanent resident status in 1966 following passage of the Cuban Adjustment Act, at which point his residency was approved.[8] Rubio enjoyed a close relationship with his grandfather during his childhood.[8]

And all because the corporate media thought Donald Trump, with his outrageous behavior and nonstop lies, would attract more eyeballs—and thus more ad revenue—than a highly-competent, less outrageous Black woman. And thus, trumpeted the Hell out of Trump's candidacy—"sanewashed" it—while sticking Harris's on page 16.

Wonder if the German press felt the same about Adolf Hitler in 1933, and therefore backed him to the hilt.

Mildred's avatar

Hello! I'm not Cherie, but I agree with you and thanks for quoting the amendment. We don't even know at this point who was caught up in that raid and removal to Salvadoran prisons, so some of them could have been citizens. If they're criminals, they need to be dealt with here and jailed if necessary. That's why we're a country with a better justice system, but now Trump and his own gang of miscreants is trying to upend that. Haven't heard yet if the passengers of those planes have been returned yet, because they should have been, even if the planes landed there already.

Anthony, the eighth amendment focuses on ‘punishments’ in criminal cases and specifically excludes “cruel and unusual punishments” and applies to everyone in the US, including non-citizens who are here legally or illegally, in criminal cases. However, not applicable in deportation cases… because deportation cases are civil rather than criminal.

Expand full comment
Anthony j. Santo's avatar

Thanks for clearing that up. Something else occured to me. Is he violating the Geneva Conventions by sending migrants to suffer in these terrible prisons? He invoked a 1798 law to justify these deportations. This law, The Alien Enemies Act, "grants the president broad authority to remove from the United States citizens of foreign countries whom he defines as 'alien enemies,' in cases of war or nvasion"

If his justification is valid, it seems to me, his treatment of these "POW's" is in violation of the Geneva Conventions.

Remember that Roberts voted with the other 4 fascist Justices in Trump v. United States (2024). Now, Roberts has dared to criticize Trump, the man he gave immunity to in the documents case; when Trump called for the impeachment of Judge Boasberg after he halted the administration's attempts to quickly deport Venezuelan migrants the administration had labeled gang members, Roberts said impeachment is an "inappropriate" response to a court decision the president disagrees with.

Representative Brandon Gill (R-TX) filed articles of impeachment against Boasberg on

Tuesday 3/18.

Now, perhaps Roberts gets it; Possibly, a realization has penetrated his thick skull: to paraphrase Steve, when you feed the crocodile, you might be it's next meal.

Where does the Presidential oath fit in all of this? Trump demonstrably defies his oath to the Constitution. What persons / branch of government can bring that to bear? How can that become an exploitable failure that a court can hear and pronounce damages, even if removal can only be accomplished by impeachment or the 25th amendment? The ultimate fail-safe method for preserving American democracy -- and the health and well-being of its free people -- is to galvanize an historic, tsunami-like tidal wave representing the majority of Americans in a mass nonviolent resistance and proto-revolutionary movement if necessary, that dispositively demonstrates that Trump his Hitlerian martinets and cult are not as powerful as the believe they are because the people are not as weak, fearful and powerless as they and Trump mistakenly think they are.

For inspiration in recognizing and acting upon the foregoing axiom, I once more highly recommend, as indispensable watching, the award-winning documentary film, “How to Start a Revolution” about the theory, practice and success of recent nonviolent uprisings and revolutions that have toppled hubristic dictators like Trump all over the world:

Protect Voting Rights ALL HANDS ON DECK

the Nazis(aka Republicans) will be trying to push through the SAVE act which is estimated to try to disenfranchise 31m voters every year

The SAVE ACT((https://bit.ly/42cHgDE) will require people who are asked to register or re-register to vote (31m do that every year….for various reasons: change address/change county, change name with marriage) will have to prove they are citizens in order to vote

This can be done in 2 ways: 1) proof of birth either by original birth certificate(who has that?) or 2 passport (12% have passports and are usually white and wealthy) What about women who have different last names now? Try to register if you do not have your original birth certificate because marriage licenses, military ID’s etc will not count This is why the Trump regime tried to do away with birthright citizenship

Will you be purged???
