One day prior to the release of video footage of the murder of Tyre Nichols by a unit known as the “Scorpions” of the Memphis Police Department, Huntington Park, California, cops executed a criminal suspect fleeing arrest. The man’s name was Anthony Lowe. He was a double amputee, and reportedly stabbed a man with a butcher knife. When he was shot eight times in the back at point blank range he had dismounted his wheelchair, and was fleeing on the stumps where his legs once were. The police officers have claimed the use of deadly force was necessary because Mr. Lowe held a knife in his hand. You can watch watch the atrocity here:
What is this? What do you see?
It is an execution in broad daylight by two more police officers who lack the sufficient training, competence, moral fiber, toughness, courage and decency to hold a position of public trust — one that includes their being issued a badge and armed with a weapon to protect and serve the public. It is another act of police murder that deprived Mr. Lowe of his life by snuffing out his constitutional rights through an act of state violence. There was no arrest. There was no due process. There was no investigation. No grand jury. No trial. No jury.
