Every elected Democrat, Senate and house should be in their districts holding public events,reciting Democratic opinions and answering questions, from ALL of their constituents. It should be a D Day type event. Land in all the unexpected places and put your political lives on the line. Probably should happen once a month. They should monitor which Oligarchs networks are covering the events and how they are covering them. This should be coordinated with marches in the mornings and the main shows at night. Think this could happen??? It could. Is there enough courage left?

But who will listen to a teacher who’s part angry mama bear, looking out for her students, when those in power turned most teachers from the souls of our nation to zombies operating in fear? Steven, please give teacher whistleblowers a voice and we’ll be able to turn this lost ship around. The answers are hidden in having had a fascist takeover in our schools—democracy’s foundation—four decades ago that slowly caused us to lose our connection to democracy.
The cruelty you described in our streets now was what it felt like when I was teaching 25 years ago.
Once people look into our schools, what happened to us will make sense. And we can get our schools back once people understand they’re ours, but we handed them over by trusting those running our schools.
Yes you’re so right and you can run for a school board at any age, without kids. If you find three other people to do it on a pro democracy platform, you’lll own the votes. That’s what people need to do. After they read my book they understand the playing field - mafia like. Our schools did Trump to us. We have to stay on top of them, kids or no kids.
I was in 5th grade in 1975 -76 school year when my teacher took a simple play I wrote about 1776 and Betsy Ross creating our first flag, and created a production for students and parents, complete with period costumes and wigs. It was great fun for us kids, but more importantly, it has been the main reason I hold on to the hope that decency will prevail, and the dream of freedom for all is not lost.
Our founding fathers were not perfect, but they were right. Nothing in life worth keeping is easy. It takes work. And now we know how many selfish people are out there that would do anything force their poison on an entire nation.

I retired to run for Congress because it was the only legitimate way I could uphold my oath in the current climate. Being silent and in uniform (submission) was no longer an option.
Running for office in Oklahoma feels like defiance and I wake up every morning motivated to help turn this ship around.

That's a fair question. I'm a proud Democrat, but I have intentionally left Dem branding off of my web site because (unfortunately) here in Oklahoma people of both parties tend to stop reading if the candidate is from the "other" party.
The national Democratic Party reputation in Oklahoma is terrible. When people learn that I'm not a national party guy, some of the walls come down. Not always, of course, but by the time someone learns I'm a Democrat, they already know I'm a veteran. That seems to help, even if they don't ultimately support me.
I only asked because in researching the candidates on my ballot, they are not identifying party affiliation…. And when I try to research, it’s not easy to find. I am neither D or R. I am more middle than left or right. I believe in responsible, compassionate governance that requires participation of all citizens contributing to the common good. I have a neighbor running for township trustee that I am acquainted with and I won’t vote for him because he didn’t fill out the league of women voters questionnaire, and his flyer I received in the mail, actually said nothing substantive re the issues facing our community. He could have been door knocking all this time to get out and take the pulse of the residents, and allow us to measure his.

Thank you Steve and guest for continuing to speak out against this regime. Having said this I am very concerned that there are not more people paying attention to what is really going on here. We have a president and enablers who are making the people of this country the enemy, who is involved in worldwide shady money grabbing, and spending the bulk of tax payer money to fund a military state. In the end what we are starting to see is an effort to break a large majority of our citizens and divide rich from poor. If this continues a large majority of us will be serfs.
