It was a routine day. A federal judge had signed a search warrant. His signature was an assertion of belief around there being probable cause of criminal activity. The search warrant was executed by the FBI.
There is no king in the United States. There is no citizen born above another. There is no station of birth that outranks another. There is no privilege of public office that grants a license to steal, lie and break the law. There is no American political office that cloaks its occupants in legal immunity and gives them protection above the law. Should the day come when that is no longer the case, then the rule of law will be dead in the United States.
What happened at Mar-a-Lago was absolutely ordinary. In fact, it was mundane and unexceptional – except for one thing.
