Senator Ted Cruz spent the weekend attacking the masculinity of James Talarico.

When the Capitol was stormed on January 6, 2021, Ted Cruz was found hiding in a closet.

Yet Texas chose to re-elect him as United States Senator.

The pool of fools is large indeed.

He is racist enough and thats all that matters in the lone star state and the other confederate states….

Ted thinks that he is a tough guy. Unbelievable.

And, Senator Cruz has proved all by himself why he is such an asshat. Nobody likes you Ted. Go sit in the corner with a dunce hat on. You’ve earned it.

Attacking James Talarico’s masculinity? What exactly does his masculinity have to do with him running for office and if elected carrying out the duties of said office? Does Ted still think the UFC match is still going on in front of the White House?

Perhaps I’m a cranky old school American that was brought up with the ( American ) values of:

Lead.

Follow.

Or get the hell out of the way.

Where your family originated from, if you’re male or female, if your a member of the queer community, whatever language your speak, what God (or no God) you pray to, or how supposedly macho man you are, etc, etc, etc. None of that stuff matters. If you’re qualified and can do the job? IMO? Your in. Let’s see how you do.

Senator Cruz is tiny man with tiny thoughts and a tiny mind. His personal attacks on Talarico shows this in plain sight. If Ted had any real ideas or actions other than kissing the orange imbeciles dupa he would debate them in public with Talarico.

He’s a joke and a disgrace to the great state of Texas. The problem with the pool of fools is there isn’t a lifeguard on duty. They swim in it all day long.

Perfect, John... I'm sharing this.

My larger issue is not so much Cruz himself, but the people who vote for him. Texas had an excellent candidate for US Senator in 2024 — Colin Allred. We know who Texas chose.

Pathetic is as pathetic does.

The current state of the reflecting pool is a truest reflection of Trump and his toadies in Congress.

Green, foul, and full of scum.

Wasn't Trump the guy who was going to drain the swamp. It looks like he is a master of creating swamps.

All three branches of government have lost all perspective of why they are there. TO SERVE THE PEOPLE AND NOT THEMSELVES. Laws are passed to protect the people from evil greedy people and corporations. Laws are to protect the innocent. That went out the window when they wouldn’t protect the innocent children from abuse. Nothing have I witnessed before being so evil.

The courts are now just taking the side of the businesses in each case. Not the people, the business.

You are so right on ... as usual.

trump never has understood Service, the office of the presidency. He wanted the Title; for the Peace Prize, ... he wanted the Title. trump is, as he's always been -- a CROOK. No empathy for anyone, no love, just steal as much money as he can. Funny, ... if it didn't involve our country, and its reputation.

I do not understand these billionaires -- you can't take it with you; if you don't put it to good use, here on earth, ... what is the point?! But then, I and millions of others have a soul.

Trump was asked:

"What have you learned about not just the exercise of power, but the limits of your power, as a result of the conflict?"

The U.S. president responded, "There are no limits. No, none. I haven't learned that lesson yet. I know there are." https://www.msn.com/en-us/politics/government/critics-tear-apart-trump-after-he-claims-his-presidential-powers-have-no-limits/ar-AA264RW4

The mere fact that the MAGAT Republicans in the House have not worked with Democrats to impeach this president following that exchange indicts them as anti-American:

1) They should assert their checks and balances and prove the jerk in the WH is wrong. But, they do not.

2) The contradiction in Trump's response to the question ("There are no limits" vs. "I know there are") proves he is aware of but refuses to abide by the limits on the executive branch spelled out clearly in the Constitution. Is that not the ultimate reason for impeachment?

God Yes .. He has done so many things that should have made the GOP congress move to impeach .. but they refuse. They are most disgusting .. If he doesn't steal the election they will be in the minority come November.

Cultists are always looking for cult leaders to help them “understand” what they don’t have the will or capacity to understand themselves. The Post article on Gabbard proved that Gabbard has always been one of those maleable people, and she ended up serving the most dangerous cult leader of our time, Trump.

Her willingness to do whatever HE wanted, not what her JOB required led her to dress up in black and skulk around and oversee the removal of ballots from Fulton County in true cultist fashion. So Steve is right on in pointing out something that should have been obvious all along: there’s something deeply wrong about America and Americans who have encouraged the glossing over of obvious dangers to our democracy. For ten years, we’ve by rewarded compliance and punished prescience.

It’s been said America is still in its adolescence compared to other countries. And the last ten years have shown that to be true. It’s time for this country to grow up and stop believing that anything we do will “all work out” somehow. It won’t, as our willingness to let Trump have his way with our democracy has shown. Take a cue from those who saw Trump for the danger he is and realize at long last what your compliance has cost us. We’re 250 years old and it’s time we learned a thing or two.

Steve, thanks, for always letting us know we are not "crying wolf" -- this is real. Our country is being destroyed right in front of us. I am tired of having folks tell me I am over-reacting... I don't know what more it will take to wake people up.

I agree with much of what you said. However, I think this Congress is morally bankrupt; not exhausted. We can blame Trump but it is Congress that has failed us in protecting the separate but co-equal branches of government. It has failed us in protecting the Constitution. And it fails in its core job of representing the people; not Trump nor those who are lining their pockets with stocks, gold, and more.

Donald Trump is the Reflecting Pool. Like the story “The Picture of Dorian Gray,” the aptly named Reflecting Pool and the disintegrating Trump are failing before our very eyes because they linked, they are both afflicted with ETTD (Everything Trump Touches Dies). Algae and separating paint afflicts a formerly dignified and life reflecting American symbol. Mental maggots and a doughy slump blesses Trump. Trump is terrified, the curtain is off the picture.

I don't know why you can write almost exactly what I'm thinking or have thought. I'm older, a woman, not a poltical, historical guru or writer but I'm educated, stay informed and remember enough of school history, geography, civics, government to have seen what was happening back in 2018 when only GOP hacks went to Moscow on our July 4th Independence Day. Before then, I watched and waited but that put me in alert mode. Orwell's "1984" became a stick to measure the extent of decay of truth, honor, bravery, service for We the People and the "common good." That stick has disappeared in the muck, the detritis left by trump, GOP, MAGA, SCOTUS, DOJ, FBI, ICE, DOW etc. Steve, you capture the facts, the history, the consequences, the traitorous, corrupt actions and inactions of our TAXPAID EMPLOYEES in Federal and State Governments and the greedy self-interested businesses and people who have deserted any respect or responsibility for their wealth, power, positions. Steve, you capture it all in short, informative, accurate articles with a passionate love for the "hope for a more perfect Union" crafted of, by and for the People on these United States. Law/order, democratic rule, honorable, accountable representation is all under enormous attacks and may crumble before We the People react to save ourselves. I never really read much Thomas Paine or Revolutionary phamplets but I think you capture the essences best of all my Substack writers. You are not embarassed or restrained and you are going for the best you can deliver. Mushy? Well, I'm also passionate about the law/order, democratic republic we aspire to perfect. I believe in the ideas of freedom, justice for all, rights, equality, responsibility for our duties as a citizen to act for the "common good" in a moral and accountable way. Thank you, Steve. You have a gift, a calling, a brain We need right now. You are using it well. Me-I write and don't proof it.

Oh Steve! You wrote a banger today!!! The facade is crumbling away. How much more damage before this ends? Will the culpable be held accountable or just sent off to the pasture to live out their miserable, traitorous lives with their ill begotten riches? Time will tell. This period of time should never be forgotten and the traitors names should live on in infamy.
