If Trump takes the step described in this discussion to make recess appointments to ensure a cabinet that puts him before our national interests, I hope the workers of America will realize that he will then rule by fiat. We will become an oligarchy, or (I am not sure I remember the term correctly. I've never heard it before), an anocracy, a government that has the outer trappings of democracy but operates exclusively in the interests of the rich, or as Steve put it, the privileghed hierarchy.
If millions go on strike and shut the economy down, if there are massive demonstrations and protests, we could stop fascism from poisoning our country. I hadn't thought of a nationwide strike before. It is a great idea, but we need strong leaders to encourage the population to take such actions.
