Much of America’s political media elite are seemingly obsessed about conflicts of interest lately, and that is a curious thing given the facts plain for all to see.
Here is the lede from The New York Times’ Eric Lipton detailing the corruption of Jared Kushner:
The private equity firm run by Jared Kushner, the son-in-law of former President Donald J. Trump, has been paid at least $112 million in fees since 2021 by Saudi Arabia and other foreign investors, even though as of July it had not yet returned any profits to the governments largely bankrolling the firm.
Those are among the findings of a Senate Finance Committee inquiry into the operations of Affinity Partners, the Miami-based firm Mr. Kushner set up.
The committee opened an investigation this spring in response to reporting in The New York Times examining the firm’s first three years of work.
Senator Ron Wyden, Democrat of Oregon, the committee’s chairman, said the new information had only deepened his concerns that Mr. Kushner’s firm creates conflicts of interest, particularly with his father-in-law running for re-election.
The numbers are staggering.
I have written about it previously, and this story should be covered for what it is, which is as an espionage story. The brazenness is shocking, yet very real. Here is what I wrote about this when the original reporting broke in February 2023:
This should be a major issue for the national media in the closing days of the election — if only the same resources were invested in documenting this otherworldly corruption as they are tracking the digital fingerprints of black Nazis with a thing for “Nude Africa.”
The very first thing that President Kamala Harris should do is propose massive ethics reform legislation, and dare the Congress to vote it down.
There is so much information out there about the horror that will be visited upon the United States if this Crime Family and its Associates are returned to power. If Americans want that, it is in their hands. One thing they can never say: we were not warned.
The other issue is we tend blame the media too much and not hold ourselves as Americans accountable to be responsible.
Case in point: I listened to a number of people say that they still intend to vote for Mark Robinson because they like his policies. This is after CNN uncovered all of his statements.
As for his policies, the only two I know of are to eliminate the teaching of science in schools and jail women seeking abortions.
Whoever said you can’t fix stupid was right.
