Joe Biden will lose the election to Donald Trump in November.
The debate was a catastrophe. It completely obliterated the Biden campaign, leaving it with a choice between patriotism and self-interest.
The path of self-interest will destroy the Democratic Party and immolate Joe Biden’s legacy, leaving behind a pile of ashes that are the fruits of an incandescent narcissism.
What’s the answer to this question: if democracy, truth, justice and the American way of life or all at risk because of Donald Trump, how can Biden’s performance be rationalized or justified? He had a cold? Obama bombed his first debate too? He just had a bad day, and he was great at his rally yesterday in North Carolina, as he read from prepared text?
There is something self-evidently more important to the small clique of Biden insiders who have allowed this situation to spiral into chaos and disaster. Some delusional Democrats have suggested that Biden’s incoherence, befuddlement and confusion were offset by Trump’s delusions, lies and menacing threats.
Here is what matters. The lying was pathological and terrible, but it rolled over Joe Biden, who was utterly defenseless against the smears, calumnies, slanders and nonsense. He was steamrolled by it.
Whether the issue was abortion or January 6, the president was unable to make any coherent case whatsoever. Case in point is his response about abortion:
The fact is that the vast majority of constitutional scholars supported Roe when it was decided. Supported Roe. And that was—that’s—this idea that they were all against it is just ridiculous. And this is the guy who says that states should be able to have it—we’re in a state where in six weeks, you don’t even know whether you’re pregnant or not, but you cannot see a doctor and have him decide on what your circumstances are, whether you need help. The idea that states are able to do this is a little like saying we’re gonna turn civil rights back to the states. Let each state have a different rule. Look, there’s so many young women who have been—including a young women who just was murdered. And he went to the funeral. The idea that she was murdered by an immigrant coming in. They talk about that. Here’s the deal. There’s a lot of young women being raped by their, by their in-laws. By their, by their spouses. Brothers and sisters. By—it’s just ridiculous. They can do nothing about it. And then they try to arrest them when they cross state lines.
His brain trust has lost honesty to the most prolific liar in American history. Who was telling the truth about Biden’s performance and fitness?
Gavin Newsom is doing himself and the Democratic Party a disservice by impersonating Kellyanne Conway, and gaslighting the country about the performance, which was historic, shattering and disqualifying. We have arrived together at a tragic hour wrought by profound cynicism and selfishness.
The small group of advisers around Joe Biden have put power before principle and ambition before service. What they have allowed to happen is unconscionable and a deep dereliction, but there is a way out and it must be pursued.
Is it possible that there are now two cults of personality defined by the cowardice and ambitions of its elected representatives?
Are we Weimar America?
Does anyone around the president understand the obvious and inherent corruption of the present charade and the foisting of madness and decrepitude on the country?
Women, Black Americans, gay Americans and the loyal opposition stand to be hunted in Trump’s America, but Biden’s ego is the high card?
The crisis at hand is political, cultural and societal, but more than anything else, it is moral.
America’s future is not safe in the hands of the two men arguing about their golf scores on the stage. The status quo is unacceptable.
The Democratic Party must offer better in order to defeat Trump.
Joe Biden will step aside. When he does, I hope he has his dignity left. Many people who love and admire him are heartbroken by what has transpired. Justifiably, they are also angry. The selfishness is epic and unbecoming. It helps Trump and hurts America.
The country must come first.
Not surprisingly, emotions are high following President Biden’s debate performance on Thursday night. I have always encouraged thoughtful discussion and reflection within The Warning community. I just want to remind everyone of the importance of civility and respect for members’ views — even if you don’t agree with them, including my own.
Sorry Steve but it sounds like you’re reverting to your republican roots. It is not Gavin Newsom who is doing the Democrat party a disservice it is you. The ship has sailed any change in candidates now would be giving the election away. Instead of doom you should be spreading the truth about the great record of Joe Biden. I’m 86 I know old, it’s not fun, but because I can’t play baseball anymore doesn’t mean I don’t understand the game.
We need everyone with a positive attitude.
Steve, you have always been against the President running. It is no surprise to me that the first time he had a bad day, and it was very bad, that you would jump on it. You seem to be looking past his previous speeches and public statements. What about how in his State of the Union speeches the way he made fools of the maga republicans?
The one thing I admire about the republicans is that they rally around their candidate and double down things get rough. Democrats seem to be quick to fold. Shame on you and them.
